'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Exceptional Reserves Of Courage

Paul Lambert has hailed the team's 'exceptional reserves of courage' following our fightback against QPR today.

Speaking to the Official Site following the 3-2 victory over our relegation threatened rivals, the gaffer said he thought we passed the ball well in the first half, but the goal rocked us, and we weren't really on the front foot.

However the second half the team pulled out every stop to take the lead, and then get back in front after we were pegged back by a very lucky goal.

'I thought we started the game really well. They got a goal and Brad has made three world class saves, which certainly helped us. We passed it really well but the goal rocked us, but credit to the players. We scored at the death in the first half and then after that, we were exceptional. We deserve a lot of credit.'

Lambert adds that attacking the Holte End helps to 'suck the ball in' and today was the definitive proof that we are a threat going forward and when we click. It also sadly still shows we are being punished by players switching off in defence - but enough of that today, we won!

'What's really pleasing, we were down a goal and pegged it back.'

Paul Lambert didn't just praise the players, he was rightly delighted with the noise of the crowd.

'The momentum is there, Liverpool is a really tough next game, but we have the crowd right with us. The noise level was fantastic today, it gives a good feeling around the football club.'

Happy, happy, happy!

the fans were fantastic, EXCEPT the moment when we had possession (0-1) down, there were constant boos. im not sure was it from our side, or qpr's side. but that is not good for confidence aint it?
Gruck
Great result and performance from PL and his boys!!

The ref was the subject of the booing I think after some terrible decisions.
UpTheHolte
Yep it was the ref that the boos were aimed at, he was a complete ***** in the first half, totally one sided. The team kept belief and kept playing and got their reward.
