Turkish Delight For Darren Bent?

He`s been linked to them before, no doubt he`ll be linked to them again!

The Sun say that Darren Bent is again wanted by Turkish side Galatasaray.

They have recent grabbed Didier Drogba and whether they are able to hold on to him or not (some guff about his Chinese side appealing about the move) they will look to buy Bent, who missed yesterdays match v Arsenal with a bruised foot, in the summer.

They mention a fee in the area of 10million. Hmmm, lovely loss from the 18m rising to 24m fee we paid!

The report is a bit daft on this bit though, they say if we go down we`ll 'allow` Stephen Ireland, Richard Dunne, Shay Given and Bent all being allowed to leave. ALLOW THEM? They hardly play! Dunne is out of contract so he`ll be gone anyway and Ireland? Well, we might say he is available but will anyone else take the risk and pay his wages?

He saved us from being relegated, so the being sold at a loss is a bit misleading.

Lambert isn't playing him, so you can hardly expect us to get anywhere near what we paid for him.

Bent i will be sad to see leave but Lambert has chosen a different style of play what that is im still not sure tbh but good luck to Bent in the future lets hope he helps save us first though if we need him which at some point im sure we will!

Trying not to be disrespectful. No matter what yr style of play is ONLY a MORON wouldn't play Bent. I mean even to the extent of selling him, he should be on display!!!!! Might even save us from relegation again.

Pablo i hear ya dude, just can't understand the treatment he has received under Lambert myself, we need goals to win points surely a fit Bent would be an asset?

Bent out. Fergie, Wenger and the special one must be morons as they've never considered buying him. He doesn't score unless you give him the ball in the 6 yard box with no defenders near him. PL isn't going to change everything just to accommodate 1 player so we can get another 3 mil for him. 1 dimensional goal hangers have no place in modern day football. We will be lucky to get 10 mil for him.

Lol at saving us from relegation?!?! 11 players on the pitch!!! Not 1, and Bencht failed to work this out aswell as some of our less knowledgeable supporters.

444, change the record just for once. Bent is quality and if he can only score in the six yard box, how come he smacked one in against Ipswich from outside the box in front of the holte. At least stick to the facts.

444- i hope this is not your age!! simple fact they did not buy him - we did - so if we bought him why not play him - he did save us from relegation last time round. Anyhow if Arsenal had a 6 yard striker they would be in the top 2!!. i am trying not to make this personal but really. Your suggestion don't play bent and let him walk away for what 10 mil, is this proper business practice or just the way our club does business, buy expensive sell CHEAP!!!!!

Pablo. You are clearly no business man mate or football manager for that matter. If we had Messi, Iniesta etc. then play him sure but even David Villa doesn't get a game these days and they play with zero strikers. Especially not one that can only poach goals. If you were a manager then you'd know that there's so many ways to counteract him and his feeble single half decent talent. It's not like he scored from everywhere is it. The rest of the ******** team has to do all the work to give him the ball with 1 or no defenders near him by stretching play and pressing etc. IT IS NOT A SIMPLE EQUATION THAT PLAYING BENCHT EQUALS SCORING A HATTRICK EVERY GAME FFS. Nothing personal to yourself or Bencht. He just doesn't/can't do enough to earn a starting 11 place regardless of how much he cost. Playing him will increase his value but decrease the value of Villa as we'd already be relegated. Bencht is all about himself. He's never been part of a successful team regardless of his personal scoring record. If he plays, no-one else scores ffs as he's the goalhanger that takes all the glory to the detriment of the team!!!! Open your mind...

3 teams worse than us saved us from relegation. Nothing else. Didn't see Bencht making fingertip saves or killer passes to a goalhanger...

And Sid, 1 goal from outside the area does not a multi talented striker make. You please stick to the facts. How many from outside the area, how many weren't penalties, how many with his head, how many with his left, how many defenders has he EVER taken on. Stats will prove almost anything. Bencht has been embarrassed by Lambert in being asked to do simple things that almost every decent player can do. A trained monkey could hit the target if all they ever had to do was goalhang for years and kick the ball with one foot at a reasonably large target from 6 yards with NO defenders near them. THERE'S MUCH MORE TO FOOTBALL FFS. Got to get to sleep soon so seriously need to stop winding myself up but honestly there's got to be more to a decent player and can't see it here.....

Good Luck to Darren Bent, wherever he ends up this summer. He'll still do a job for the right side/manager, just a shame things never worked out for him at Brummagem B6.

444 yet again please stick to the facts. You know perfectly well that if you sat through and watched all of Bents 100 plus goals he scores left foot, right foot, headed, six yard box, outside the box, one touch finishes and when he takes a touch. Oh and he's scored bucket loads with defenders around him. Why don't you look at the quality of some of his finishes during that spell when he signed and kept us up under houllier. I hear what your saying about him being unable to go past players, but so what. The guy is not world class, oh and we're not Barcelona like you keep banging on about for FFS. All Lambert has done is devalue one hell of an asset. I ask you which is worse playing Bent who has the potential for more goals or playing gabby who works well for the team but has a goal ratio of about one in twenty.

Personally Sid, I'd play Gabby every time. We CANNOT have a team of Benchts, whereas we could theoretically have a team of Gabbys as he can do more than 1 thing. The priority is to win games. Bent helps with none of this other than the final touch. Why aren't you comparing him to Benteke or Wiemann instead of Gabby anyway, answer is because it doesn't suit your argument. Christian is the top of the spearhead, that's the only position that Bencht could play so there's absolutely no comparison to Gabby who doesn't only offer that positional option. My Internet is down or I'd research the goals that Bencht has scored from different areas/positions and be proved correct. In fact, think that playing Bencht devalues him as it's obvious what he can't do rather than what he can!!!!

444, I don't know if you've noticed but we are currently garbage and are hardly winning any games. If we were tearing the opposition apart week after week and Bent wasn't playing then fair enough but we're not. You seem to focus on Bent as if it's a crime to actually score goals the way he does, i honestly would'nt care if he touched the ball only once per game if he scored with it and we won each one 1-0. This argument that anybody could score goals if they trained as a goal hanger is so laughable it's untrue. There's just thousands of humans out there with 100+ premiership goals to their name. Yeah right!! I know it's hard for you but at least give the bloke some credit. I agree with you that in the modern game there's probably no need for players like Bent but that is only at the pinnacle of the sport ie top end champions league teams. If we were in that class i'd probably agree with you but we're not. The fag end of the premiership and going down is our place and at this level we are a million miles from the Barcelonas of this world. Personally i don't feel lambert has given Benteke and Bent enough goe's together and i'm not saying he should play them all the time either, but there are occasions when we could alter the system to give it more chance to see what would happen. Currently what Lambert is doing is simply not working although we all know thats down to the most inept Villa back 4 any of us have ever seen.

Sid, you've just accurately described how average we are but then gone on to suggest playing bent will get us goals. Who the ***** is he going to replace and he is incapable of matching their work rate, whoever it is, and other abilities than poaching. You clearly don't understand. Playing Bencht is like playing 10 players plus 1 goalhanger ffs. We'd lose by a lot more.

lol Fear got the message a long time ago that 444 doesnt like Bent I see him as a player that would score loads for the likes of Man Utd but just doesnt fit in at Villa with the current setup where the chances are not presented on a regular basis through the midfield Let it go 444 Lambert is the boss and he agrees with you so chances are he will be gone in the summer instead explain to me how Bennet got 26% in the player of the month poll for feb are the baggies fans at it again lol ????????

Not when the other 10 players are our current crop Sid. You got the username right but Bencht is just not good enough at enough things. If he'd played, it would've held back Andi. As you say Merlin, Sid should just let it go as PL is boss and will be proven correct ;-)

444, oh, ok I get it lambert will be proved correct by taking us down. Well that's just great. As I say if we'd been kicking everybody's arse week after week then fair enough but we keep losing. Oh and drop the Bencht it never has worked.
