Confidence And Belief Not Dented

Paul Lambert has said there has been no adverse reaction in the dressing room following the loss to Arsenal today.

Speaking to the Official Site following the 2-1 loss, Lambert described the defeat as being 'harsh' especially as he said he doesn't have to pick the players up after the game because their performance levels were so high.

'The belief is there, we have been playing well for a number of weeks. We have been beaten today, but with the performance, we will take great heart from it. The team were excellent against Arsenal, I don't think we deserved to get beat. We looked a threat throughout the whole game. The way the lads played, I can't fault them.'

Not really helping to put points on the board is it though. Five shots in all, only three on target. Still remains an issue for us doesn't it.

If the performances stay surely we should get what we deserve eventually, but it seems a recurring issue and has been for too long.

Deluded again. No way did we deserve to win that game and no way was the result "harsh". We scored against the run of play and they deserved the win, simple. I'm getting sick of hearing the same old *****e, tbh.

Oh, remind me, which team had the prolonged break? Because it certainly didn't look like us. So much for that horse***** that the break did us a favour. Arsenal were there for the taking and we failed. Yet again.

As for "no adverse reaction", I'd say balls. If I was one of our strikers, I'd be asking what the hell we have to do to win a game with this bloody useless defence, that Lambert has supposed to have taken control of.

Anyone notice straight after then game on SSN, he said "....Benteke could of passed to Weimann" first time his ever picked Benteke out and spoke about him not in A good way, surprised!. We don't play for 2 weeks, we lose to a top 4 team, don't care if they're in good or bad form. And the cry babys have started already. Get a grip guys. We got City next, if you're crying now, you well be crying a river by the end of next next monday night. Cheer up! Think of the great run we have after City.. Anyways I won't be watching Carling Cup Final. That's one thing that I'm still in a paddy about :(

Yea i agree. where were the signings to help us out in jan? no oniell signing in sight either so no point blaming him as what ppl normally try to do. Joe. b is the worst player i have ever seen at villa. he is just like a random pub player. shocking. Our front 4 are great. the rest are championship platers at very best.

I'm with you badger. Arsenal were there for the taking; their defence was dreadful and we failed to take advantage. While only watching the match on the stream, and I know that is wholly different from being at the game, it seemed to me that a decent team would have murdered us. Clearly we need full points from Reading and QPR, and also against Fulham, Sunderland and Norwich. It's beginning to feel a bit tight now and our GD is a disadvantage. But it's a time for cool heads and steady nerves. We need to summon up the spirit of Rorke's Drift and Waterloo. While difficult, the position is far from hopeless. I believe we shall survive in the Premiership and that next season will be more pleasurable and rewarding that this.

Definitely not a bottom 3 performance, think we deserved a draw but wasn't to be (needed a CB and we would have got points). Stick with the team boys two MASSIVE games coming up after City that will shape our destiny, I believe we can do it. UTV

Badger0-0 Set your speakers to mute as it is the only way to stop listening to all the bollox - especially when PL features.
