Vlaar - We Are Improving Every Day

Ron Vlaar has said he sees improvement in the team every day in training, and the players have to continue to believe they can get he results we want.

Speaking to the Official Site Vlaar said that the belief within the camp was just as important as our form in our continuing relegation battle, and he also thinks we can take heart from the previous Arsenal game, and this time go for all three points.

'We have to believe and show each other that is the only way. We are improving, you know what you have to do. It all starts with working hard, now we've won that will help us going forward for the rest of the season. We played well in the home game, and it was too bad we didn't win that game. I think we have to believe we can get a good result.'

Nothing earth shattering really, just standard pre match interview but I suppose if you take anything from it at least the right things are being said, but of course that counts for little if we don't come out of the game with anything.

I'm beginning to hate all such interviews. Wish the players would just keep quiet and talk on the pitch. That's the only place to talk and good results are the language that counts. Nothing else. Sarcastic side of me wonders that if they are improving every day how bad were they at the start? These comments are meaningless.

I think it just shows the guys are gaining confidence which has been lacking this season at times...

glad to hear you are improving, but at the rate it is going, you will have a strong end to next season in the Championship

As long as they're improving at defending set-pieces, we might have a chance....

Improving is easy. Getting any worse would have been the difficult thing. The only way is up. (I'm not using and words that being with 'D')

I suspect the real problem here is not that the players *want* to give these interviews, but that they are more or less forced to. Such press coverage is often built into their contracts, part of their livelihood comes from promising their sponsors that they will be high profile, the Premier League demands that they appear for interview - frequently to answer puerile questions from lazy journalists immediately after a bad day at the office and, finally, the fans jump up and down and scream if the players - and owners - don't constantly appear in the press.

Just produce Ron, that's all Villans everywhere ask of you and your team mates. Just produce.
