Vlaar - We Know West Ham Isn't Enough

Ron Vlaar has said that although the West Ham win has given everybody a great lift at the club, the players are fully aware that one win isn't enough and we have to build on that now.

Speaking to the Official Site Vlaar insisted that 'it's only one win and we want more' which is obviously stating, the erm, obvious, but I think it's good that our position isn't being glossed over following the relief of three points.

'It was big - we realise that for ourselves, the fans and every employee at Villa - because we need this so badly and it finally happened. We have to go on, it's only one win, we have to look to the next game. You could feel the relief in the stadium and the dressing room.'

After the number of late leads that we've let slip this season, I think all of us hope that West Ham will be the corner we've been groping for all season in terms of defences ability to leak goals, as we withstood the pressure from West Ham pretty well - well we got three points at any rate!

And Vlaar believes we thoroughly deserved it.

'The luck finally came on our side so it was really good, it was almost there a couple of times in the weeks before and finally it happened. We really deserved the win.'

I'd imagine many fans are past caring whether we deserve a win or not, at the moment just getting them is all that matters.

was a start, just a shame it wasn't the first game of the season where we got the win not now. But hey, still prefer those three points than not!
