Reo-Coker Tips Delph To Get Better

Nigel Reo-Coker has said he hopes that Fabian Delph can stay injury free so he can finally show what he's capable of on the pitch.

Speaking to the Official Site Coker said that he thinks 'the world is his oyster' if he can remain injury free and start to show on the football pitch, what he had been showing in training before he went down with his injury.

'Fabian is so talented, he has an abundance of ability. I don't think people realise how much, I just hope he can stay injury free and get better and better.'

Reo-Coker says that Delph's attitude off the pitch is spot on and he thinks he has that old school tenacious tackle in him, so if he stays well grounded and injury free, he should have a big future in the Premier League.

Coker also says that Barry Bannan reminds him of a young Paul Scholes, so if he can continue to develop and work out the kinks his game, he too should have a fantastic career at the club.

Very nice of Reo to be fair, Delph has shocked me recently as how much better he is looking than he used to be, Bannan still undecided and unsure if he will ever cut it at Villa tbh

Bannans decision making and execution will have to vastly improve if he is to ever make it... I just dont see him ever being good enough for Villa..

I can't believe you would talk this way about the Scottish Messi : (
steff_the_villan
I can't understand how everyone now seems to have it in for Bannan, I've been avoiding our games for the last 8 weeks but the guy clearly has class. In a team that goes into panic mode, players heads dropping they're bound to not be showing for the ball as much.Very hard for a player who's trying to distribute thhe ball.Alot of players haven't covered themselves in glory the last 2 months.Delph was fantastic on Sunday.UTV!

Steff I think you ment scottish messi minus the i on the end. Poor distribution is not his only problem Pking a tendency to lose the ball too easily often in dangerous areas, unable to win it back due to powderpuff tackling. I still remain unconvinced by Delph as well along with Bannan & Ireland the odd good game does not do it for me.

Barry Bannan. He wil never ever make it at this level. Not in a million years. Too lightweight, and not quick enough to get himself out of trouble. He has been one of the main reasons Villa have been poor through the middle this season. I think Lambert has (finally)realised this with the purchase of Sylla. I cannot see Bannan getting anywhere near the 1st 11 again this season, unless we have injuries to Westwood/Sylla/Delph. Yes he works hard, but its all huff and puff without any end product. Opposition single him out when he plays, and make sure they just bully him out of the game. Maybe with an injection of confidence, and playing in a more forward thinking midfield role infront of 2 X big physical midfielders he might start producing. In honesty of what I have seen, I see him as a championship/League 1 level of player and not Premier League standard....just my opinion.

Delph is starting to develop into exactly what MON and others had predicted for this lad. He did have some lengthy lay-offs but if he does stay injury free, and we are lucky and stay up...he will be 1st name on the team sheet next season.
KSarge1
Delph is showing encouraging signs definitely. His attitude is first class. Never shirks from responsibility. My concern is his poor first touch which often means his second is a tackle! As for Bannan? Great technical skill and passing awareness BUT no strength or pace, and you need one of those attributes. IMO no way he can play in the 'holding two' positions where he has been employed this season. He would be far better playing the free role in the final third BUT we have Charlie there at the moment and he is by far our most skilfull and dangerous player. Nice of NRC though. Free agent. Would you give him a deal until the end of the season?
krfeskivilla
Yep. Delph is similar to Wilshere except his first touch is just too strong at present. Hopefully he'll be able to refine it. Done great for us considering his injuries at crucial times of development and the last 2 nobs for managers that he's had to endure.
Villan444
Delph has looked very good recently. Must have been tough for him with all the lengthy injuries but he has come back strong and im sure the more games he plays the better his touch will get.

I'd just like to wish you well in your fight to stay in the league. Great club with massive history, but recently you have had some terrible managers who have wasted millions and millions on very poor players (Ireland, harewood the list is too long) hopefully lambert can start to add real quality to your team. Make sure you keep hold of benteke and n'zogbia
gibbothfc
I regret that is out of our hands gibbo as with most clubs if Benteke wants to go holding on to him will be difficult as you found out with Modrich. Contracts just allow you to get a certain amount of money for a player but they decide if they are going to stay with you. Takes a brave chairman to hang onto a player and then theres no guarantee they will perform for you once you do.

Would love to see NRC back in the team - give our MF a much needed kick! Delph looked very good against west ham...
thorpyuk
Nige can ***** off. He was more than happy to sit on our bench and collect money for nothing rather than work for it. Ask West 'ammm fans what they think about the *****. Brown nosing Delph will not change our view of him.
Villan444
"Delph is similar to Wilshere" yeh in the sense that he has two arms and two legs PMSL
AVbornandbred
thorpy agree mate NRC always put in 100% even when asked to play completely out of position and shows more leadership than anyone in the current squad. Only worry would be his recent history and whether he is fit enough or has his head in the right place.
AVbornandbred
Delph has improved and has used his athleticism well. To be a really good footballer though he needs to start using his brain - he never looks up, anticipates, and therefore plays himself into trouble unnecessarily time and again. Still pleased with his recent form.
crimsondonkey
Lol. BornAnInBred, we really think opposites. I understand football and you clearly don't.
Villan444
Delph has the explosive pace, box to box power, eye for a killer ball, tenacity and ability to tackle. Wilshere is obviously different league to almost every midfielder but he plays a similar game and Delph is our closest comparison. Nige is good for nothing apart from waving his arms about, bitching at other players and running around. He couldn't even pass 2 yards consistently well.
Villan444
He has looked better recently, needs more confidence still AND to stop those stupid lunging tackles as you can't do that in the PL!
