Cowans Delighted With Drennan & Team Performance

Gordon Cowans was thrilled with the response of the U21s in the second half against Sunderland. Four goals in 12 minutes will leave you feeling like that!

Speaking to the Official Site Cowans obviously picked out the hattrick hero of the night for special praise, but he was equally as chuffed with the overall team performance.

'I said at half time Mikey was pulling off the shoulders all the team so he should get his head up and have a look early. He needs that early pass played to him, he was threaded in a few times and took his chances really well. That's what Mikey Drennan does.'

As for the performance, leading us to back to back wins, Cowans added.

'The second half was as good as I've seen. We kept the ball well, and caused them all sorts of problems. I did enjoy watching that, it was very good football.'

Cowans admits he didn't really have to say much to them at half time, it was just pointing a couple of things out or us to try and achieve during the game but otherwise, as you were.

Looks like the U21s might have gotten into their groove again hopefully.
