Not Dunne And Dusted?

Not Dunne And Dusted?

I have to be honest, I find this very hard to believe!

The Mirror have a report today saying that Paul Lambert may look to keep Richard Dunne.

The defenders contract runs out in the summer but despite not playing at all yet this season, Lambert might consider an extension.

Ahem...

He says he knows what Dunne is capable of, he doesn`t have to impress or prove himself like the younger players do.

"I have an open mind but the main thing for me is that he is going to be fit again."

Dunne is still struggling with a back injury that he`s had surgery three times on in Philadelphia. It is hoped he won`t need any further ops on the injury.

"First and foremost the main thing is to get the guy back to fitness. That is the big thing for me. There is nothing in my mind other than getting that lad fit."

Just can`t see it myself, he was hardly fit and fast when he was fit to play!

Paper talk I would say. Cannot see it, unless he plays the last 6 or 8 games I cannot see him being offered a new contract

Past his best and we must look to getting someone younger with experience. Must say though another year and maybe Baker will mature into a really good central defender, he's certainly getting better ?

As much as I like the fella, I think he's past it... been unfit and injured all season? Seriuosly just let him go, do not renew... Should've renewed King Carlos' contract!

I think its a smart move to say we are considering giving him a contract doesnt make it true... Id be telling him Im going to give you one if you can get fit... It would be very stupid to say you're not getting one at least we've put it in Dunnes head so he might come back and try his absolute hardest for Villa so he can get a big contract... Let him come back give his all then ditch him simple as that and Id imagine thats whats gona happen...
