Vlaar Delighted By West Ham Win

Vlaar Delighted By West Ham Win

Ron Vlaar has admitted he is somewhat relieved that we picked up all three points today, as West Ham certainly threw everything at us.

Speaking to the Official Site following the 2-1 win, our centre half said you could feel the relief at full time:

'Last week we didn't play that bad but we didn't get the result, so this brings a lot of confidence. You could feel the relief, with the fans as well. We worked hard, scored two good goals and then we were unlucky with the goal we conceded. It was very hard to keep in front, but we did very well.'

Vlaar also says we got a it of luck today, and luck has been somewhat over due this season, but overall we got the result that he thinks we deserved, and moving out of the bottom three again is certainly a welcome sight.

Great to see Vlaar's reaction at the final whistle, he grabbed Baker and the two of them were hugging and celebrating like we had won the league. Nice to see how much it means to the lads, if they keep fighting like they did today we may just dig ourselves out of it.

A definite confidence builder for the back line, especially on the set pieces. Well said Lion Heart, no one can say these lads don't care.

the match of the day analysis was spot on. wet spam just punted balls into the box continually for about 10 mins and they got nothing. So fair play to the whole team... Typical alladyce tactic... Well done lads, well done. Onwards and upwards avfc.

good performance by the boys yesterday, i thought bowery did well as he came in and did a job also looked composed in dangerous situations. A lot more solid, the funniest thing ive seen is fat sams interview at the end of the game when wet spam apparently totally battered us, had chance after chance but somehow lost!! I must of been watching a different game me thinks!! glad they dont play long ball any more!!
