Another weird sort of selection. Bowery starting? No Gabby? Wa hoping either Sylla or Dawkis would of statred. Once again, nowidth...... I give up!

Delph is absolutely terrible
colavfc
Dawkins looks like he is going to be a right handful. good start
colavfc
Too soon for Bowery. He looked completely out of his depth and was taking up space someone useful (Sylla) could have taken. I thought Delph was good EXCEPT he over hits it almost EVERY time he gets the ball, if it's not his first touch, it will be his second or third. Then he has to overstretch and lunge in to get it back - hence bookings. Don't they have coaches who can work on this with him?

phew.

I thought Bowery did okay, simple passing, nothing spectacular. I think he'll be okay. Hard working performance from Villa today, maybe they have got the fight in them.

Credit where credits due...good subs from the manager..if we'd have lost some would have called him a tinkerer....
koolbill
How cool was Benteke with that penalty? We must hold on to him.

Col you saw a different game to me. Delph's first touch is awful but he played really well today, as for Dawkins I was hoping to see a flying winger but every opportunity he had to hit space or take on the last man he turned back or looked to get rid of it.
AVbornandbred
Thank f*** for that! Not pretty, worse than last week, for example, but the 3 points were really important. Even when WHU 'scored', I felt ok, they didn't seriously threaten most of the game and I felt we'd hold on. But massive save by Guzan from Nolan right at the death - wasn't so confident when Carroll's carer pulled the trigger, I must say!

I thoght Guzan, Clark, Vlaar, Baker, Delph and Zoggy were great today. Bowery looks what he is a division one player. As for allardyce hes obviously as thick as two short planks with his after match comments.
fulford
Allardyce is always like that, the bitter old *****. So disrespectful.
olofthegreat
Right team with Gabby in for Bowery :-)
old trinity villain
Trinity totally agree mate gabby would of had a field day with the space that Bowery was given. Not knocking Bowery he did his best and linked up well at times but he doesn't have the pace to play the role Lambert asked him to.
AVbornandbred
Delph was awful? Thought he was great in midfield, getting better each week. The AWFUL one on the pitch today was Bowery, I felt so sorry for the lad, it's not his fault, he just isn't premier league quality and frankly he never will be, completely baffled by the signing in the first place he showed no promise at Chesterfield what so ever, go ask their fans...Just way too big for him. Dawkins looked lively when he came on, hopefully if Gabby isn't fit for Arsenal he can be given a go. Massive 3 points here though, very tough fixtures coming up, I expect nothing but would be great to pick up 1...Reading and QPR coming up will decide our season.
P.Avfc
Col, you say the same about Delph every time. Clearly not watching..
