Dawkins - Blessed To Be At Villa

Simon Dawkins has talked more about his injury hell, and said he feels blessed to have a chance to kick his career on at a club like Villa.

Speaking to the Official Site Dawkins explained that his injury experience means he now truly values every moment he has in football, and he thinks the mental strength he has gained will stand him in good stead for the league.

'I think my battle back from injury helps me. I am always thinking in my mind about what I've been through, it was difficult, hard times, but I came through it. Every time I enter the pitch I feel really blessed. Now I'm blessed to be playing at Villa. That battle back enhanced my desire, determination and belief. I think those qualities will stand me in good stead for this battle at Villa.'

You're going to need it Simon. It's all well and good talking about our facilities and calling us a big team in the Premier League, hopefully your desire can rub off on some of our existing players and they can also realise the chance they have and work together to kick us up the league!

I wonder how his father Richard Dawkins would react to him using the term 'blessed'?
