I have refrained from, metaphorically speaking, putting pen to paper since Mr Lerner and his Board managed to persuade Paul Lambert to walk away from Norwich City FC, a club at which he had been singularly successful, to join us last summer. I must admit that it was with high hopes that I and I know many other Villa supporters welcomed Paul Lambert to Villa Park. There is no doubt that we have one of the better young managers in football now at our club. His record, up until this season speaks for itself. Dan Harrisson: Gabby Agbonlahor is certain the claret and blue faithful will continue their immense backing throughout Villa's battle for top-flight survival. Agbonlahor appreciates that the fans have recognised the team's efforts even when results haven't gone according to plan. And the Erdington-born striker says the players will retain that tremendous support as long as they give 100 per cent. 'As long as they see we have given 100 per cent on the pitch they are going to stick with us,' said Agbonlahor. See: www.avfc.co.uk
