Wayhey Transfer Gossip

Wayhey Transfer Gossip

It's being reported that Villa are on the verge of signing Yacouba Sylla, a defensive midfielder, for £1.75million.

It's expected the player will be announced tomorrow, arriving from French second division side Clermont, who I read are currently 14th in the league.

He is also 22 years old and a six footer.

And that's about all I know about him.

The Birmingham Mail say he is the next option on the list after we were priced out of a move for Moussa Sissoko, who many fans would've welcomed.

The Daily Mail confirm the rumour by saying that Paul Lambert and Paul Faulkner have been beavering away at Bodymoor Heath all day putting the finishing touches to the deal.

There are also brief whispers that Stoke could be lining up a late move for Darren Bent, as Peter Crouch is apparently set for a move to QPR.

Could be a busy day tomorrow! Well, we need it to be don't we!

We need something Mike, not sure Sylla has the quality we need, he certainly doesn't have the experience. Let's hope it's an inspired signing! We need a couple more...

Should I be excited about a second division French player who I have never heard of, many seem to think he is the messiah already . I get the feeling as long as we spend money people are happy

The French second division. It's renowned for it's quality. My arse. It would be a real shame to see Benty go, he is not a Stoke kind of player however.

Agreed PiperUK he's not a Stoke kind a player. Trouble is he's not a Villa type of player now, not for the current type of side. IMO he's class and if we were a better side he would be major asset, sadly the way we play at the moment he's a luxury we can't afford. Still gutted if he goes.
