Vlaar On Bradford, Millwall & Beyond

Vlaar On Bradford, Millwall & Beyond

Seems about the right time to mop up all traces of Bradford now because we can easily be distracted by Millwall and forget it ever happened.

Credit to Roncrete he clearly did care about the result, and this was what he told the Official Site following the game the other day:

'What can I say? I'm really disappointed. I don't know what to say, it feels really bad. It's my man so it's my responsibility. I should have done better, but I didn't. It killed the game.'

Vlaar rightly praised the crowd for their support on the night:

'The supporters were brilliant. The atmosphere was really great. I can't remember this before in my time with Villa, it gave such a good feeling, but we didn't do it.'

Well what can you do apart from look forward, and that's what Ron does here a few days after some of the dust has settled.

'Friday is the next game, we are not in the position to have a hangover. We have to go on, look forward, however hard it is. Staying up is the most important thing, we have to keep our head and get together. We all know the situation we are in so we have to fight back. We have no option, no choice.'

Vlaar calls on the fans to do what they have done all season, because he says the players do appreciate it:

'I hope they stay behind us like they have already done in every game this season. This is going to be hard for them and I understand that, they are also upset. We now have to get together and fight back and give another good signal back to the fans.'

A fair acknowledgement, I don't think anyone can say a bad word about the support the players are getting, but they have to stop letting their heads drop when we go behind. We could've still progressed after Bradford scored if we started playing with the energy we did in the final 10 minutes or so. Had we done that 20-30 odd minutes early when we still had some shape to the team, we'd have at least pushed it into extra time because the chances were still be created. But wasting 20 odd minutes before getting some belief back cost us as Andi's goal just didn't come quick enough and by the time it did the team were all over the place and doing their best Wimbledon impression which never suits us.

I'm sick to death of any talk that comes from anyone Villa these days. We need less rattle and more battle, imo.

Good grief, 67% think we're going to lose tomorrow? That says it all as to how the fans think.
24/01/2013 21:42:00
66% of them votes was from Villa fans btw lol
24/01/2013 22:03:00
Apparently Millwall have no fit forwards able to play at all tomorrow, so we should be able to keep them down to just the 3 goals!

Weirdly i have no feelings at all for the game tomorrow.. i really couldn't give a monkeys what happens which is really sad.. I think i'm that numbed by the last 6 weeks that i have mentally shut off from Villa now. Go ahead lose again lads i really don't care. I am totally prepared for Championship football next season... At least that way if we stay up it'll be a nice suprise :).. As for Vlaars comments? Well whatever basically :s I have learned to ignore anything anyone connected with Villa says anymore as it is completely worthless.

I agree with danceoftheshamen.

Lambert might be treating this game as a prelude to us playing them twice next season, so he will get an early look at the opposition, so thats at least one positive :)

You need some kind of spam prevention in your content management system Mr Fear & Co.. I also agree with danceoftheshamen. I have become numb - and not comfortably. UTV

I am not numb I am still f****** seething as the transfer window ticks away and nothing happens. Funny isint it we hear from everyone at Villa bar the only person who can change the current situation the OWNER. No we do not have to sack Lambert but telling him the current situation is unacceptable get some loan signings or new players in surely needs saying.
