Villa Fan Suffers Cardiac Arrest

The Birmingham Mail are reporting that a man in his 50`s suffered a cardiac arrest at Villa Park last night.

He is said to be doing well in hospital.

A spokesman said: "The WMAS and St John medics worked together to give the patient CPR, drug therapy and two shocks from a defibrillator. The man responded well to treatment and came round at the ground. He was taken by ambulance to City Hospital where he continues to undergo treatment. Whilst it is very early days, the initial signs are hopeful. This case shows the value of knowing how to carry out CPR,"

Puts our moans in perspective, I`m sure I speak for us all wishing our fellow Villan all the best and a speedy recovery.

I thought this was about me because I felt physically ill after the game. I wish him all the best and a quick recovery. Supporting Aston Villa is not good for our health.

Perhaps the poor bloke will have the same charisma bypass that Lambert has had.

Perhaps Lambert should visit the man and apologise personally for that embarrassment we all witnessed. Hope the man makes a speedy recovery, all the best to him.

Best wishes to him. Saw the ambulance enter the ground during the first half.

LOL @ Spurdon. Wish the guy all the best, the club should fund the best private care in way of an apology.

I was standing at the bottom of the lower Doug Ellis during injury time and everyone was so worked up, it was crazy

After nearly 40 years I too believe that Villa will eventually be the death of me. I still can't believe Houllier took the job on, I could've warned him! My only wish is to be able to watch (and enjoy) Villa, with my feet up, confident in the knowledge that they'll see the game out, without conceeding a goal in the last few minutes. That's all!

Joe Scott my mate helped assisted the guy at the time and in my eyes is a hero for being Johnny on the spot. He helped carry the bloke to the stairs for the paramedics to work on him. I hope the guy is okay and it goes to show just how much this club means to some. VTID. Randolph, send the guy some wishes please and tell him that all will be good cos you are going to sort it.
