Lambert On Bradford

A few articles from Paul Lambert talking about his hopes for the Bradford clash, in one easy to read place.

On the fans and the atmosphere - Click Here

'It will be a different game with the crowd behind us. They will be right for us and will drive us on. We will give everything we've got to get through. It will be magic, a great night - it will be an even better night if we get through it, absolutely fantastic! We need the kind of start we produced at West Brom and I'm pretty sure they will.'

Lambert believing a good result and progression against Bradford can see our 'confidence break through' and aide us in picking more points up in the league - Click Here

'If we get through the confidence will break through. It will be great. The feeling around the club will be massive. It can definitely play a huge part in the season turning. It's clear there is no grey area in this one. We have to win and get through. We're not going in with any apprehension at all, we know we have to go and do it.'

Personally I can't see any way we'll keep a clean sheet tonight (or for the rest of the season for that matter) and the chances of this villa side outscoring Braford by 3 goals is somewhere between none and f%&k all. Lambert is deluded, get ready for some more "we'll be fine" quotes after we get knocked out.

I just pray we get through, because if they don't Fridays trip to Millwall will be doubly hard and our confidence would be at a seasons low. COME ON YOU LIONS.......

These youngsters need a boost of confidence, and if they aren't fired up for this one there's no hope for them. A BOLD prediction: Villa to win 5-1 tonight, and meet Swansea at Wembley. They must be patient and believe in themselves. Good luck, lads.

PL wouldn't have to keep saying we'll be fine if some big girls blouses didn't start crying every time we lose. Work in progress. Not the finished article. Randy needs to back PL though.

5-0 Villa. This is not an unrealistic result. Come on the lads, you can do it.

Is it me or has the last 6-7 months aged Lambert by about 10 years???? He looked all freshed faced and ready to go in that pic above, but now he looks, well..... *****ed to be honest.

Good point Gibbo - look what a few months at the Villa will do to a fellow! My last Bradford game was a tight 1-0 the year we last got promoted - possibly the best atmosphre can ever remember at VP (up there with the semis against Tranmere and Blackburn); let's hope we get the place rocking tonight. I predict penos - won't be able to watch though...

think you as fans have to raise the roof tonight and hope it gets into the players and intimidates Bradford. One thing makes me smile and that is the prospect of a Bradford v Swansea final, nothing against Villa, but I would love to see the faces of Capital One, who will get an absolute lemon of a final

My prediction is Villa win 4-2 with Benteke first goal ... 95-1. However this would put the villa out on away goals. I've also had a quid on Villa to win on penalties - 14-1

Cut the press-releases unless there is something to say (e.g. Scott Parker has signed a three year deal with Villa). Otherwise just go out and earn your wages like the rest of us have to do. Winning against Bradford should be an average day at work. Oh I forgot, this is 2013, this is Villa ... I'll get my coat.

Haven't Bradford got the best record in penalty shoot outs of any club in English Pro football? Won there last 9 shoot outs I heard!!!

Oxfordspur are you a secret Villa fan?

Thats to be expected from the neutral OxfordSpur we hold nothing against you... TVR I went with 4-1 n Nzogbia to score first 75/1... Winning this game and getting a result against NEwcastle could finally be a genuine turning point sprinkler in one or two last ditch super signings and we will fly up the table one hopes, one DREAMS!

tvrwhitey I don't think the away goal rule stands in this comp. It never used to anyway.

So if it's 4-2 to the Villa after 90 mins it goes to extra time, Right ? And i'm guessing the bookies only pay out on that result after 90 mins - not extra time ?

Putting being a Villa fan to one side, I disagree OxfordSpur (if by 'lemon' you mean it'll be a damp squibb). It may be an absolute roof-raiser. Great publicity, the TV and papers would completely go to town on it. You'd get special articles and TV magazine shows. If two mid-table PL teams get there, it'll come and go unnoticed.

The away goal rule does stand, but only after extra time. If its 3-1,aet (after extra time) then and only then will it go to penalties. Any other score 2-0 Villa win, aet, on having scored an away goal. 4-2 to Villa and Bradford go through, aet, having scored more away goals.
