Genting Deal To Expire

Despite the more sensational elements some reports have gone for here, Villa haven't been dumped by Genting, our two year deal is just set to expire.

Come the summer Villa will be looking for a new main commercial partner, after Genting have achieved the promotion they were looking for locally.

Most papers seem to agree the deal with the casino company has now been rated as 16million, and obviously plenty speculate if a deal of that size, given the last few years in the league, can be achieved again and that's obviously open for debate, but despite the rabble rousing of some, Genting believe they have achieved the aim of heightening the brand's awareness in the area in preparation for opening a Casino and Leisure Complex at the NEC in 2015.

Never did like having 'genting' on the shirts anyway - sounds too much like 'cottaging' for my liking.

Gees, have we not signed anyone yet? As for sponsors how about Mr. Bill's Bier Keller. I collapsed at the back there a few times, I don't mind telling you.

Vital should hold a competition for the most suitable name for a Villa sponsor, bearing in mind their current form and predicament.

Vital Villa to sponsor them... that would be good. I could offer 1000 and to wash the players cars monthly!

Sadly they can't do that Clive due to the Prem/FA rules on sponsorship.

Fair enough Fear dude, shame, if we donated a tenner apiece maybe we could all get Vital a sponsor on a boarding at VP or somewhere a kind of collective effort, i would be up for that but not sure the prices tbh, i would be happy to give something back to this site as im sure many of us wouldwho can ;} UTV!

With our board's track record in appointing managers, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd negotiated a sponsorship deal with HMV or Comet!

How about Starbucks, I heard they like not paying out too much money but expect a whole lot in return. They also employ a bunch of snotty nose teenagers. Seems we have quite a bit in common.

How about Samaritans? Our our fans could also get a discount on the bulk use of their services. i have them as part of my "friends and family" when the phone bill comes in. The team could also run out to Blondie's "Hanging on the Telephone"

Lets have a bet on who the new sponsor will be. Somebody who anyone has ever heard of before would be good.

Fair enough that the deal has expired but there's no doubt that if we were doing well we'd be the ones telling them that we don't want them anymore as we've had better offers. Even refs are sponsored these days. Mita Copiers for me if they're still around.

I looked at sponsoring a player, or match etc at one point Clive but it was a bit pricey (not just Villa, in general they are) and decided the Acorns donations were therefore better place for the site money at this stage, mainly because sponsoring would have led to a nice day out for me and no one else really, so a bit selfish! LOL I might do it one day though. Now, where is my lottery ticket!

Given what's happened to most of or previous sponsors, I'd be very wary if was looking to blow a few million. Where are Davenports, MG Rover, NTL, Leyland Daf, etc nowadays?. Faulkner probably had deals lined up with Comet, Woolworths and Blockbuster...
