'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Queen Can Save Our Cup Dream

The Legendary Tash, Shaun Teale, has said Aston Villa should belt out 'We Will Rock You' to bring back the spirit of Tranmere in 1994, to ensure we reach Wembley in the Capital One Cup.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail about his memories of our dramatic double header against Tranmere, Teale explained that the team should have faith in themselves and there would be no better way of cranking up the atmosphere ahead of the game than by banging out the iconic tune.

'My abiding memory was the Queen song 'We Will Rock You' blasting out all game long. They should dig it out and play it again on Tuesday because the one thing that really stood out about that Tranmere game was the atmosphere. I never played in front of a better atmosphere. The place was just bouncing from our end to their end. It was a massive day.'

Teale admitted that our first leg performance was thoroughly dissected the next day in training, but Ron just focused on telling them they had the 'goal and that will save us.'

'I think we actually went into the home game firmly believing we'd turn it over. We went into the game two goals behind and everybody thought 'oh no, we're not going to go to Wembley' and then Deano scores and I score the diving header and it goes barmy. Everybody was on the edge of their seats.'

Everybody knows what happens next, and the part that Mark Bosnich crucially played.

So is Teale as upbeat about our chances of creating another piece of Villa folklore? Well, yes, he is.

'I've got a theory that Bradford have had their day and they won't be able to play like that again. I think some of that might be proven from what happened at Crewe the other night where they got battered 4-1. I think we'll end up winning quite comfortably and going through. My biggest fear then though is that everything gets focused on that and not surviving in the Premier League.'

Is it time to hail the Queen again?

Yes, bring Queen out again, lets hope it does the trick. Lets face it, in the 1st leg, we played like a load of "Fat Bottom Girls".......
