JG's Tribute To Petrov

At a recent Lions Club meeting, former manager John Gregory, couldn't resist a little Springsteen tribute to club captain Stiliyan Petrov.

Please click This Link to see a free mini interview with JG and his musical tribute.

'We are missing our boy and I hope that he'll be back amongst us one day. I don't know when and it's not easy but we've certainly missed him. But I'd like to finish off with this song. I think it says every about him - it's in the title.'

No Surrender then reverberated around the room.

You know I'd put up with the current state of affairs at VP with a lot less pain if I knew that we had someone like JG at the helm, bleeding claret and blue. It would still not be acceptable but at least we'd be in no doubt that it hurts the manager as much as the fans.

I do miss the days when we had managers who gave a ***** about this great club. He was a Villa boy through and through. I'd take him back over and above any of the dirge we've had or been linked with in recent years, including Judas O'Neill.
The Fear
JG and Villa were just right for each other, as far as I know it only went wrong for him when HDE started to interfere with team matters. Mind you, other than for Villa he doesn't seem to be that good a manager. Still, it would be worth it for match day interviews alone.

That's the next campaign for me - "BRING OUR JG BACK" Right now, think I'd even welcome Deadly Doug.

Yep, my fave Villa manager of modern times, a great team under him too and great interviews. Those were the days. And how many other managers bang out The Boss on geetar? Not many.

Wish I was sufficiently au fait with the technology to start a thread. Seriously need to start thinking about a manager who will be able to get us promoted. Some of those with a track record might be unpalatable, but may as well prepare for it. Lambert's credentials not bad, others who spring to mind include Allardyce (yes I hate him too) and Holloway.
