An Interview With A Southampton Fan

An Interview With A Southampton Fan

A big game in the battle against relegation takes place this weekend as we host Southampton.

So over to SFC Forever from Vital Saints.

-----

1) What are you now expecting from the season following your start?

Hoping rather than expecting us to finish around the 15th to 17th position. Safety will do me fine for this season.

2) What are the highlights and lowlights from the season so far?

So far the highlight must be the way so nearly beat Man Utd and the worst has to be the 2-0 home defeat by Wigan. That was really depressing.

3) What are your hopes for the transfer window?

Two centre backs and a good left footed wideman.

4) Who has turned out to be your signing of the summer?

The best arrival has to be the beginning of Luke Shaw as a Saints star. Best buy Gaston Ramirez.

5) Who is going to be your main dangerman when we play?

Gaston Ramirez who is going to be sheer quality, once the team has learned how to work with him.

6) What are your weaknesses, any clues for the game will be appreciated :-)

Our defence has struggled badly at times and sometimes we open ourselves up to a counter.

7) Will you have anyone out who would otherwise play?

Adam Lallana and Jose Fonte who will both be missed.

Now with a slightly more Claret and Blue angle...

8) Have Villa performed how you expected in the first half of the season, and do you see us improving or really suffering a relegation battle?

No I expected them to be safely in midfield.

9) Do you have any thoughts on Paul Lambert?

I thought that he would be good for you. Lack of available funds may be a major handicap plus all of your injuries.

10) What have you made of our youth promotions last/this season, anybody caught the eye for you?

Daniel Devine looks like one for the future.

11) Who has stood out most from our summer signings for you?

Hard to say with the way you have struggled but maybe Ashley Westwood has shown he has a future.

12) If you could take one of our players, who would it be and why?

Another difficult one but maybe Charles N'Zogbia as we need an attacking midfielder who is comfortable wide.

13) Who do you see as our main threat in the game?

Christian Benteke as long as the like of N'Zogbia can put the crosses in.

14) Where would you say our current weaknesses are in terms of how you will approach the match?

Your half of the pitch if we can get our game going. You have limited experience and your midfield needs stiffening.

15) Finally, a prediction please kind person...

Having said that I could easily wind up with egg on my face. Villa 1 Saints 2

I've said that score for days now. I was hoping to change it if we had signed someone, but surprise, surprise, we haven't so I stick with Villa 1, Southampton 2. Good interview too.

Oh man why am I so nervous about this game? I have that feeling we have already lost. Is that a good thing? I can be a jinx sometimes with scores so ill not predict.

The only thing that we can currently expect from our lot is to expect the unexpected. As I sadly dont expect us to win, along with many other Vital Villans if the front page poll is anything to go by, maybe I/we might just be in for a very pleasant surprise. I very much doubt it though.
