Coutinho Link Scrubbed

Sky Sports are reporting that Villa have told them we have no interest in Inter Milan winger Philippe Coutinho.

The rumours surrounding the player were sparked by his agent this week who claimed Aston Villa has enquired about his availability apparently, but the club have taken the unusual step of 'informing Sky' that no approach has been made for the Brazilian winger, and that he's not on the list of players Paul Lambert is hoping to target this window.

I don't think I've heard of him before to be honest, so I'll have to let others comment on whether or not he is somebody we should be looking at.

Good. He too youngt and no speaky Ingly.
Hangelaand anyone? I said Shane Long and or Brunt and got shot down at the start of the season......How about Kevin Davies? Proper player, experienced and rock. Would do a job and yes yes I know his age....he's still very good.
Hangelaand would be a great signing would put a bid in for Dawson at Spurs as well. Would still need a left back and two centre midfielders tho. Loan bid for Anderson at Man u till the end of the season maybe.
We ned Defenders and defensive Midfielders anyway! we're fine in attack. Look at the ***** poor goals we concede
Dion Dublin for CB. Not only would he be a rock, he'd score hattricks for fun.
johnnyuk It was never true. UTV
Mulumbu, Dawson .... job done
Like most transfer windows the deals are done at the last minute when we need them now! A couple of new faces will lift the team so long as they are quality, their age doesn't bother me so long as they can play without injury.
holte ender 1969
Sign the ball boy up behind the Goals. His a beast in the making ;). Trinity End, he actually reminds me of the Male version of Trinity from Matrix. Lol my lil bro
Of course the link is scrubbed because her is actually good and what we need!! He's not a winger either although he could play there his best position is in the hole as number 10 like Ireland. I know we need hard men in the middle but we also need creativity and he would have provide it. Come on Villa, sort it out
Without wanting to ***** on anyone's fireworks, why would Hangelaand join us? We're hardly a tempting prospect at the minute, can't offer him big wages and he's getting first-team football. As to the claim that our attack is not a problem I must be watching a different Villa team to you medzy, namely the lowest scoring in the league along with QPR...
Bristol Villan
medzy, we're all right in attack!! 20 goals against and 3 scored in last 5 games, jesus our forwards couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo, let alone the back off the net.
Had to laugh reading all the forum talks!it seems to me that the impression of our club overall is.... We have a poor back line, shocking at best, our midfield is as weak as my wife's tea,and again shocking at best!our saving grace, attack, can't hit a barn door! Our coach is struck down with a form of terrets,it's fine,we're fine,I'm fine etc!our board are invisible and also mute to what's going on,silence is golden or deafening ,unsure which they would choose! We can't or won't sign any body or is it nobody wants to come to the sinking ship ss villa! Oh that ship is also rudderless and missing leadership from all angles! One game we love what mr lambert is doing to the club, changing ideas from top to bottom,we can see things happening on and off the pitch that fill us with hope,we beat Liverpool, just loose to Man U in fergie refs my mate time, and we could be pushing for european spots...then,we should of signed so and so,young players was never going to work, lambert doesn't know what he's doing,we're worse now than ever...... For the first time in days I have laughed! I think we are doomed as no player will come to us ,only journey men....the type we all wanted out of the club six months ago...
We've got the ability up front, just not the service! Benteke can't do it all himself and Weimanns a poacher. We need to stop leaking goals, work from the back, standard
I've not said any of that mickatkins21. I truly believe we would do excellent to get Kevin Davies - he's more of a deep lying target man now and would be an excellent link from mf to cf and a front line defensive barrier to boot. Many may scoff but it's just what we need...with a fully fit and focused Holman next to him it would look like a tougher mf already. Hangelaand joined a *****e baggies so why wouldn't join a shayte Villa on a good last contract which WE CAN afford in my opinion. Add to that some real hard ******** in mf and maybe defense then we can hope with more than blind optimism to stay up...if we don't...I too fear the worst!
Didn't mean you koolbill just an observation from reading all vital threads on a regular bases and a few others forum sites mate. One sad fact this club is being turned into a laughing stock and it seems to me that even though randy has spent money, his information regards players and managers is pretty poor.who is twisting his arm is the problem! The fall from top 6 to constant battlers is draining,he needs to make a few decisions on his own or get in a right hand man who knows the playing side of football for advice like a mr houllier and tell Faulkner to run the business side of the club, not mccleish as and example!
Well I'm glad that rumour has been put to bed. I didn't think we'd be interested in him, lets face it, he's too good for us! He's certainly not Championship material?!.....
Pride of Lions
I didn't think it would happen either far too old !!
eleven days in and the revolutionary step to try and address the decline is?......More of the same. Still no activity in the transfer market. It's ok though, we are going to rush Vlaar back too soon from his injury and risk a relapse, and more than likely go with a midfield with Delph and Bannan in the centre. I bet Southampton are sh**ting themselves.
heavy d
Dream land if we could get someone with his talent. We have Bannan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are a joke 11 days in and no new signings, another 6 pointer coming with the same crap defence and midfield.
Stevens looks twice the player Bennet is so put him in even if we get Vlar back it wont solve the problem of teams walting through our non existant midfield keep Holman and Westwood say goodbye to Bannan,Ireland Nzobia,Delph,Albrighton and KEA they have all had their chance and please the odd Bannan,Ireland and Nzobia supporters save your breadth about but they had a good game here or there the thing is one good game each means nothing they are the problem.
Yes Merlin, no idea why Nzogbia got so many votes for MOTM in the bradford game. He just had to pass to someone who was in a better position. We have him trying to take everyone on and Bannan just hoofing it every time long ball to Benteke. Why can our players not do more than 1 thing. This is like a soap opera where the same people have the same dramas every other week as they can only act in one way, which is probably why they're in a soap and not hollywood. The one dimensional style of each of them (Bencht especially ) must change. Delph could still work and gets no credit though?!?!? Thought he was as good as anyone against Bratford.
I would agree Delph was as good as anyone against Bradford 444 my problem with him is the same as the others he is inconsistent and you are never sure if hes going to go 90 mins without getting sent off each time he gets booked he dissapears because of the threat. But to me the whole midfield is a shambles Holman is all heart and a good squad player Westwood could get there no guarantees, but is not ready to play every game yet.
