AVFC Transfer Links... Hmmm. Experience Anyone?

AVFC Transfer Links... Hmmm. Experience Anyone?

Not sure my heart is in this transfer window gossip so much this year, I`m too worried that we won`t bring in the much needed experience to keep us where we should be, in the Premiership! Also, the links have been a bit tame to be fair.

Talksport are suggesting that Paul Lambert will use most of his available funds on a £12million bid for Swansea's Danny Graham. See: Villa Linked With Danny Graham?

forzaitalianfootball.com say that Villa and fellow strugglers Southampton are after F.C. Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan to you!) Philippe Coutinho.

Apparently the 20-year-old, who spent last season out on loan to get experience, is a creative midfielder.

Fine if that is for the future, but for the here and now? He`d have to settle, get used to a new league etc. It is the here and now that I think is the most pressing. Hope Lambert thinks the same thing.

Or the Birmingham Mail have us going for Lazio defender Luis Cavanda with his agent saying that Villa have shown an interest in the 21-year-old.

Sky Sports 'understands` (lol) that Celtic, Villa, Wigan, QPR and Cardiff are all interested in Leeds United`s 22-year-old defender Tom Lees.

Sky Sports say Fredrik Jonsson is returning to Stoke City for a second trial and add that Villa are also interested in the GAIS 17-year-old.

Palacios and Hangelaand. That was easy! Where did I put my cup of tea?

Just to clarify those two - Palacios has the attributes we are missing in midfield (strength, discipline and EXPERIENCE!) and is within our price range. Hangeland available on a free at the end of the season so Fulham may be tempted to cash in this month. On to Valley Parade we go. UTV!

These transfer links im hoping are a smoke screen for the real targets players like Lampard Beckham erm ya know all them usuall top players we go for ;} im with heavy d Hangelaand and Palacious would be a good start and not cost the earth, our midfield needs some leadrship and our defence does too!

If we got Palacious and Hangelaand (or the like) THEN I would get excited about the young Brazilian lad from Inter Milan BUT not until we have a couple of experienced players in.

I reckon there is little if any truth in those transfers may be Coutinho and Cavanda but Id like to think PL knows he has enough future talent... If we can get 2 or 3 guys approaching their prime we will be golden for a next number of years...

Dont just need experiance we need quality as well and thats where it gets difficult. I see West Ham are trying for Blackburns Martin Olsen for 2 mill. How I wish we had got Nolan when he was available a steal at 4 mill.

I would be excited about Countinho as he could be a world class player if he achieves his potential but that's juts it...will he? Or will he just be another flop, he has already stalled in his career, probably due to the managerial changes at Milan and not getting game time but still coming to the prem at a young age, it's difficult and we can't really afford to give him time at the moment. Palacios is a good shout above to be honest, a bit of steel in midfield but Hangeland has nothing to come to us for, he is at a good club with a good manager, located in London, and Fulham's chairman will probably splash more cash to keep him.

We have 3 VERY winnable league games before the transfer window closes, and EVERYONE knows that we need 2 experienced quality midfielders to stand a chance of getting those wins, so I expect a last minute deadline day panic buy of a striker being our only business - and that after losing those 3 games!
