Bennett & Given Post Ipswich

Bennett & Given Post Ipswich

Joe Bennett and Shay Given have talked about the character of the team following our win over Ipswich, and both hope we take that momentum into the Bradford encounter.

Speaking to the Official Site Bennett offered:

'All we were aiming for was to get through but we played some nice football and that is a bonus as well. If we are playing good football then hopefully it carries on into the next game and we can play well against Bradford. I think we played well and deserved the win.'

As for Bennett's assist in the game, he passes all the praise to Andreas Weimann for finishing off what he called not the best of balls:

'It wasn't the best of balls, it was hit quite hard and flat. But Andi is scoring goals left, right and centre this season and he did well with the header, it was a sweet header.'

Shay Given focused a bit more on the team ethic as he discussed the match, saying:

'Any win is important and we were delighted with the victory. As a team we were delighted to come back from a goal down and we showed a lot of character and togetherness so we are really happy.'

Given kept us in the game with quite a few saves, and he adds he was just happy to do his part, although their first goal:

'We were disappointed, it was weak.'

It would be nice in the near future that they start to come out saying about the quality that "x" & "y" has brought to the club.......
