Pre Ipswich Injury News

Paul Lambert is hoping that Gabby Agbonlahor, Darren Bent and Charles N'Zogbia will play a part in our FA Cup third round clash.

Agbonlahor and Bent have returned to training this week after suitably recovering from their respective injuries, and it was hoped N'Zogbia would return in today's training session.

However Ashley Westwood is definitely out after injuring his ankle ligaments against Swansea. Ron Vlaar and Richard Dunne remain out.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, Lambert explained:

'Ashley Westwood I think is going to struggle. The lads I've mentioned just there will hopefully come through this morning and we will see how they are feeling. Hopefully we'll get one or two back and that will help us. If we can try to change it then it's something I'll try to do.'

Karim El Ahmadi is now also on international duty with Morocco, he left on Sunday ahead of the African Cup of Nations tournament.

Should they get clearance to play, Ipswich have brought in David McGoldrick and Aaron Mclean, who if they settle into their stride, could cause you real problems

Bent in the shop window, hope there's a team ready to panic fork out £24 mil and they're desperate to stay in the prem as their manager plays in prehistoric formations!!!!

Michu's tackle on Westwood was appalling, worth a yellow if not a red for sure.

Has anybody got any news on Nathan Baker?

Getting news out of Villa Park about the status of injured players is nigh on impossible ajvilla29. The players seem to disappear into the treatment room never to reappear. Would like to see Bent, N'Zogbia, and Agbonlahor all in action as soon as possible. All three could play an important part in our survival fight this season, and at the very worst, all three provide PL with additional options.

I agree with you by a third Glensider.... it would be good to see Bent do something useful. mind you, it would surely be a miracle if the other two did something useful........
