Brett Holman has called for the team to remember how we had improved, and how we were playing prior to our last three games, so we can get ourselves back on track in the league.
Speaking to the Official Site with most fans hoping the New Year will see a change of fortunes, Holman said the team were determined to get back on track, and we need to take confidence from how we were playing before things went a bit a skew.
'We have had some really heavy defeats now, we are trying to work on things, like not conceding goals and keeping the ball in training, but we are in a dip. The good thing is we are in the Christmas period and the games are coming thick and fast. The dressing room is still very ambitious and we remember how we played before and that can't just fade away.'
Holman also said that the players were speaking their minds in the dressing room and our mistakes of late are being pointing out so that everybody can learn and improve them, saying also that it's not the first time he's been on the end of a hiding in his career and you do learn from them, and as one of the experienced lads in the camp he's doing all he can to pass on his experiences and explain things to our younger lads so we can get out of this dip quicker.
Tellingly he also adds...
'If we could put our finger on why it's happened, we would have done something about it.'
It's difficult to do something about a lack of belief and confidence to be honest, only the players themselves can individually change that outlook inside them, but they should take some heart from the spell we had against Wigan, because if they keep playing like that and putting that effort in, it will come again.
But they can't do it for just 20 minutes in the game, it has to be again for the whole 90.
