The Villa Times Says Goodbye To 2012

Unoial Villa News...

Avoided doing much opinion wise this season (and a large part of last) as you don`t kick people when they are down in my humble, however.... A Fear Moan! Season So Far Totally Unacceptable

Villa have unfortunately announced that former loan signing Vaclav Drobny died earlier today in a sledding accident. RIP.

Paul Lambert said the reaction of the majority of fans at the end of the game against Spurs was amazing, and he really appreciates the support he is being given despite our inconsistency and where we find ourselves in the league. Speaking to the Official Site ahead of what Lambert has admitted is a must win against Wigan this weekend, he took time out to make sure the fans knew he appreciated their chanting and support in the Spurs game. Now this is the proverbial banana skin following the Wigan disappointment. Would I be surprised to see our Swansea colleague on Vital confident of all three points? Would you? With thanks to KevinE from Vital Swansea. See: An Interview With A Swansea Fan

Paul Lambert has said he remains confident about the future of the club and what he's trying to achieve, as he continues to look at the bigger picture. See: Lambert - Sink Or Swim & I'm Not Drowning

Custard Cream: Well 2012 wasn`t a great one for Aston Villa, was it? We went into it with a hugely unpopular manager and with not many wins. Our club captain was then diagnosed with Leukaemia, a three points became more difficult to achieve than a lottery win and then the 'new dawn` presented to us in the summer turned out to be nothing more than an acceptable face on the same body as before. What on earth can 2013 bring to top that? See:

HeavyD: Can someone, I don't care who, give us a straight answer about the clubs direction please! I have never written an article so please bear with me (I'm young/inexperienced but will improve lol!) But hope this is published! {indeed it will... JF!} Having had a couple of hours now to kick the dog (joke), calm down, grab a beer and reflect on the Christmas fixtures I have been able to look at Lambert's post match interview on Sky and the events of todays shambles vs Wigan. As dark skies gathered over Villa Park the media vultures began to circle though not many would have predicted the mauling Villa would receive from fellow strugglers Wigan Athletic. Wigan arrived at B6 having lost 6 games on the bounce though they no doubt fancied their chances against a Villa defence that gives away goals for fun. Right about now, any team would. Paul Lambert has said Villa will 'keep on fighting' after losing our must win match against Wigan today. Speaking to the Official Site after another confidence sapping scoreline, Lambert said: That Was Hard To Take

You know, I had a bad feeling when I saw Villa lose to the Swans back in Jan 2012, but who could have predicted things would turn out quite so bad..Warnock had a 'mare of a game, sends shudders down my spine thinking about it.. I'm absolutely stunned after the last 3 games, but I think Lambert will pull it around and has the potential to be one of Villa's best ever managers.. but PL has been dealt a bad hand with lack of investment, a crop of injury's to experienced players, a somewhat disinterested owner, along with the ever silent Paul Faulkner PL is bound to have problems. 2013 has to get better.. starting with the Swansea game 12 months on from the last one.. predictions.. 3-2 to Villa.
