Bannan - Earn Our Spurs

Barry Bannan was rather honest about the Chelsea performance, and he knows the team have to show a response today against Spurs to make it up to the fans.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of today's game Bannan said the team knew they had to come out 'all guns blazing' against Spurs and put in not only the performance we know we are capable of but also hopefully the result to bounce back from our Pre Christmas Day Blues.

'We've got to luck at ourselves and pick ourselves up. Everyone was down, as we should be, and we hurt the fans too by performing like that. Hopefully we'll get that out of the way and come out all guns blazing against Spurs.'

As for the actual performance against Chelsea, and the lack of determination really more than anything, Bannan added.

'We didn't help ourselves by getting off to the start that we got off to, you've got to try and keep a team like Chelsea quiet and we didn't do that. It just capitulated from there. Brad made some good saves and it finished 8-0 and could have been more.'

That's the last time we'll speak of Chelsea - onto Spurs.

With nigh on 50% voting for the loss today, compared to previous predictions for games, you can see how hit us fans have been by our last result.

Only one way to rectify that and it's not in our hands.

Your Comments

After your last result, predicting this game is going to be impossible. Are you still going to be shell shocked and therefore Spurs win. Are you really going to be up for it to banish the last result and therefore home win. Or are you just wanting to make sure you don't lose and therefore a draw. Flip a club and decide!

Sorry, flip a coin and decide!

talk on pitch only is best in my humble opinion. These things look ok if we go and get a win, but we've only got 4 of those this season.
The Fear
you are heading in the right direction, but as fans you have to back the players and manager, whilst I feel that in the main your board/owners have been naive to stupid in the past by allowing the club to decline on and off the pitch. Lamberts appointment was an excellent one (though I voted for Martinez) but he now has to be given absolute support and time to get things back on track and it might well be quite painful on occasions
oxfordspur
I think that has already been said by quite a few oxfordspur, myself included. The team has to pull it's socks up, including Bannan - but not too much otherwise he won't be able to see where he's going........
