U21's - Villa Miss Out On Elite Group

Our young guns have missed out on the Elite Group stage of the new U21 league format after losing 3-0 to Spurs tonight.

Spurs:

Vigoroux, Fredericks, Bartram, Luongo, Hall, Mason, Carroll, Parker (Gallifucco 67), Obika (Coulibaly 67), Townsend, Falque.

Subs:

Priestley, Stewart.

Goals - Mason (31), Parker (45), Coulibaly (78).

Our finish in the group means in the New Year we will drop into Qualification Group Tier 1.

I have to say that Spurs were very good last night, but over the 12 games, it is a shame for you guys to miss out on the elite group after doing so well to that point

Couple of games throughout where we weren't at our best, but it's a good lesson for them about putting yourself into a position where you don't come off the pitch with regrets knowing you could've done more. They should be better for it in the New Year games.

I really like the concept of this competition. for too long we have had a very uncompetetive reserve league and in this, we have something where winning is great, but also there is real development potential

as for Villa being inconsistent at times. isn't that part of the game at this age? how often do we see stupid scorelines and results that you would never have predicted because the team was either outstanding or terrible
