After the M6 accident scuppered our trip to Peterborough in the FA Youth Cup, a new date has been set....Posh Date Reset

Wadey: It`s been a very fine week for Paul Lambert's young gentlemen as Aston Villa's new generation showed both resilience and audacious attacking prowess in the course of a satisfying few days. On Saturday the plucky young pupils of Villa's college of fine footie took on the visitors from Staffordshire; a side very much of the old school, where hacking and scrimmage are still the main features of their game plan, and who alas, show their affinity with the potteries' tradition, with the pragmatism rather more associated with Armitage Shanks, than the elegance of Wedgwood or Spode. Bearing this in mind, it was no surprise that a smaller crowd than expected filled the Aston Villa Grounds, to witness Villa's bright-eyed young men take on the grim battlers of Stoke City. Nice compliments on Match of the Day last night from the pundits about Christian Benteke. Lawro said on the man mountain striker: 'Benteke has a bit of everything about him. He`s a big fella, he has lots of ability, is extremely strong on the ball, but he has more than that. His goal was a really, really good strike'. See: Match Of The Day Praise Christian Benteke

After another monstrous performance from the big man Benteke, Lambert has waxed lyrical about how good this lad could actually be....: Benteke's Potential Is Absolutely Frightening

A bit off topic but Aston Villa has been mentioned in my local newspaper today, in Le Havre (France)! Jonathan Calderwood, head groundsman at Villa is in town in order to check some issues with Le Havre AC's brand new turf. The club's chairman has been quoted as saying that asking for Aston Villa's help was an obvious choice because he thought we had the nicest pitch in the UK and they were looking for the best piece of advice. Lovely credit to the club.
