Weimann Passes Plaudits To The Fans

Weimann Passes Plaudits To The Fans

Andreas Weimann has effectively dedicated his brace against Norwich to the traveling fans who made the journey as he was astounded by the support given on the night.

Speaking to the Official Site after what was I assume, a very good night's sleep, Andi said of the fans:

'It's a pleasure to play in front of them! The fans were absolutely unbelievable, it was incredible support from them from the first minute to last. It's a long way to come, hats off to them.'

As for his own contribution to the game and his second brace of the season, Weimann added:

'It's brilliant, I am really happy to have scored two goals but the team as a whole were unbelievable. We're so excited about being through to the semi finals. It means the world to me to score two goals, for me it's brilliant. Eric Lichaj did brilliantly down the left for the first goal, it was a striker's finish - I just put it into the back of the net. Christian Benteke did brilliantly for my second goal, put a lovely ball in for me and all I had to do was put my leg there and put it in.'

Weimann also reserved praise for Brett Holman's equiliser as it got us straight back into the game and kept our confidence high, and described Benteke's closer as 'brilliant'.

An awful lot of use of the word 'brilliantly,' maybe we could've had a stupendous or a fangasmic, (nope run out of ideas now) but it means the same thing. Possibly even an overall better game than the Manchester City one, but without doubt one of the performances of the season so far, and with the changes made by Paul Lambert ahead of the game the other positive is players stepping up to the plate, especially in midfield and showing that despite how well Ashley Westwood and Barry Bannan are growing together, we still do have other options.

Nothing you can fault from last night is there...if there is, I can't think of it.

More of the same lads, and good on you Andi, keep it up son!

a player who shoots, who scores AND who praises the fans? Nah, not for me this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great player, chuffed to bits how he is breaking through, I'd worried earlier this season that he'd be pushed aside before properly trying (like Cahill all those years back)

I was unexpectedly in Norfolk on Tuesday and listened on a very partisan Radio Norfolk. They commented a few times on how loud/passionate the Villa fans were, and in fairness they were all you could hear apart from the Norwich goal (ie, for about 20 seconds). Pity we can't be as loud at home! Fair play to their fans, treated Lambo with more respect than most would have in similar circs.

Thank you Andi. On behalf of my jolly good self and my three long, long, long time friends and travelling companions, I accept your kind dedication. It was a night to cherish and recall, that's for certain. Still haven't warmed up though.

I've always rated him! He was class in youth team. Glad we have kept him and hopefully we can bare the fruits now.

Bannan needs to grow a foot or so. Westwood seems pretty much man-sized to me.

if he dedicates it to the fans, then will the goals go down as Holman, Benteke and Villa fans (2)? No? Then its pointless.

No it isn't thekentvillan.Dont spoil my moment in the sun. I have always wanted to score for AVFC, wanted to score a brace even more, and if Andi is happy to dedicate his pair of beauties to yours truly, then I am more than willing and happy to accept. Its the closest I will ever get to fulfilling that particular dream of mine. Dont be such a party pooper, it's Christmas time.
