Westwood Reacts To Vital Villa Player Of Month

I`m chuffed with this!

Ashley Westwood has reacted to the news earlier that he won the Vital Villa player of the month for November. See: Vital Villa's November Player Of The Month Winner

Ashley Westwood said: "I`m really delighted and very grateful to the fans on Vital Villa, especially with me being a young lad whom probably no one had heard of, coming from League One and little Crewe! The gaffer has shown faith in me by putting me in the team but you know that with the likes of Delphy and Karim ready to come on, if you have an off game, you might not get in the team for a while."

"So we`re all pushing one another and that`s great for the team and a great reflection on the squad. We`re on a little run now and we want to keep that going. Overall we`re in a rebuilding phase for the Club and the fans have been playing their part fantastically well. When you`re at places like QPR and Sunderland and the fans show that level of appreciation towards you and support for you even at the end of the game, it`s an incredible feeling. As players, we appreciate that so much."

Adding, "We need the fans and the Villa fans have been brilliant all season. Me, I`m just a tidy player, I`m happy to be involved and contributing and I really appreciate this recognition from the fans, it`s great. Thanks very much."

love that, nice to know that these things do mean something to them, in this modern cynical world, it is good to see! Chuffed!
The Fear
He really does come over as a genune likeable young man who happens to be quite good at playing football.....

Ashley comes across as a very down to earth, likeable young man, and when you add those attributes to the fact that he's proving himself to be a pretty decent footballer too, it's fair to say that he has a lot going for him right now Good Luck goes to him, as he continues to build and develop what will hopefully be a long term and extremely successful Villa Park future.

I dunno how he got potm, you guys are missing stuff I'm seeing. Benteke or Guzan should of won hands down. But hey his coming along nicely, well done to him :) hopefully he builds on this and not sits back.
Blitz
Fantastic stuff and he does seem very sincere. Come on leaps and bounds recently and can only get better if he keeps his head grounded. Loled at little Crewe though, here's hoping he becomes as key for us as the last midfielder we had from little Crewe!

Deserves it big time, he's come in and done really well, hope he keeps it up. Really starting to look like a quality signing. As are a few others. The future is bright and it's becoming clearer. We just have to keep it all secret so the big boys don't find out and come in with their gazillions and prize our lads away. As the gaffer would say "I think we'll be just fine".

curious. Our midfield is regarded as the weakest link in team Villa at the moment. Yet three of the four potm awards have gone to three different midfielders.
TelfordVilla
What an absolute gem.
Villa_Grizzly
The new Platt, for sure.
Madirish
We need to come up with a song for Ashley.
