Westwood Wants A Rocking Villa Park

Ashley Westwood has said he hopes the fans will be in good voice for the Stoke encounter, because there's nothing like a rocking Villa Park.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the weekends game, Westwood said he was loving the experience of playing at Villa Park, and he's looking for the fans to lift the team again as we go in search of another three points.

'Over the last few home games I have played in, Villa Park has been rocking, it's been booming. We need that again on Saturday, we need the fans - every team does - but I think it's especially true for us young players, they can lift us. They have been magical atmospheres to play in, it gives you a real lift.'

In a separate piece on the Official Site Westwood talked about his recent improvement in the first team - something that many fans had recognised and commented on themselves.

'I have improved massively since being here. I can't understate that point, my game has definitely gone up a level. I feel sharper and it's terrific to be part of. I strive to keep improving my game now, that's my focus, I want to keep improving and progressing as a player and I want to help Villa kick on and move up the table. I know I can develop with the manager and his staff, I can't thank him enough.'

Since his debut Westwood clearly has come on in leaps and bounds through his hardwork in training, and it's a joy to see.

Mind you, it's nice of our Ashley to acknowledge the manager and coaching staff have been instrumental in his improvements lately. Kee it up Ashley!

think the fans have rocked more than the players and manager so far this year, I'm sure we'll be as vocal again on Saturday in support. Hopefully cheering on a much improved performance and a home win.
The Fear
Be nice not to have 15000 empty seats. With that much blue plastic on show it is hard for any rocking at all . . . . .

Be nice for the team to give the supporters something to turn up and cheer for to be fair !
Dion's-Dong
Well the extremely vocal Stokies will no doubt be in great voice, so hopefully the locals can counter the noise and vibrant atmosphere that will be created in the visitors section, and make Villa Park a cauldron of noise and passion. As voiceoftheholte so rightly says though, when so many Villans opt to stay at home leaving row upon row of empty seats inside the stadium, it becomes increasingly difficult for the ever faithful in attendance to recreate the volume of noise that Villa Park was once famous for.

dions dong. That would be nice. But we have a team of youngsters and home grown talent who are obviously giving there all. We have the manager most fans wanted, a great stadium and some of the lowest prices around. So lets not look for excuses. As I have said before, if we were playing Barcelona on Saturday it would be full. And again I understand the reasons why many fans cant attend, but very simply it boils down to lack of passion, lack of support and the fact that we have too many fair weather and fickle fans fans.
