Lowton Delighted With Point

Matthew Lowton has said the point from today was fantastic because we had to end our losing run.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail following the game, Lowton said:

'It's a fantastic point. We've had a tough three fixtures, and two defeats coming into this one, it was vital we got a point. We need to keep the momentum into Tuesday night.'

Andreas Weimann also got amongst the interviews tonight, adding that he believes everybody can see how the team have improved over the last few fixtures, so the points will follow:

'I think we've been playing quite well the last few weeks. Against United we did well, and then City, I think we were well in the game until the penalty. We showed that we're really a team. Everyone ran their socks off for each other and I think it's a great point in the end.'

It's all about running, closing down space and pressurising the opposition, which is fine against the top teams. But we need more than that against the likes of Reading, QPR etc because Reading will be doing the same to us and coming for a point on Tuesday and it will be Arry's first match at QPR so they'll be fired up.
Pride of Lions
I know he's not a 'fashionable' player, but I must admit I think Matthew Lowton has been our best signing so far this season - defensively intelligent and slowly improving going forward. But Pride is right, it's a totally different kettle of fish against the bottom half of the table teams, the next three games will determine our January spending and our second half to the season. 6 points minimum, but looking for 7 please!
