'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Villa Times - 21/11/2012

Unoial Villa News...

Brett Holman has been named Australian Footballer Of The Year by their football federation. Our 28 year old running man accepted the award via a video link in the ceremony in Sydney earlier this week, and he was obviously pleased to accept the honour. See: Brett - Aussie Player Of The Year

Paul Lambert has accepted an £8000 fine and a touchline ban for 'thoroughly justified conduct,' sorry so called improper conduct due to the idiot linesman in the City game. See: FA Ban Lambert For Justified City Comments

Ashley Westwood has said the team aren't looking at results, they are looking at our performances with the belief that we'll soon start picking up points. Like many fans, we can see the improvements in the performances, and it does look like the team are now starting to gel, but we aren't quite there yet. If the players are taking faith from that then all's good, but they can't sit back, they have to keep working as they have done in training, because familiarity is what will make us gel, not faith ultimately. Sheriff Kimbo say: We've had better weeks... The Week In Villa (16)

While a lot of outlet's are making these quotes out to be proof of panic in the camp, we all knew more funds were available anyway - but let's not let truth get in the way of trying to get more hits. The quotes appear all over, but I'm taking them from the Telegraph. See: Lambert Talks About January Plans

The official site are carrying a few more quotes garnered from Stiliyan Petrov at the charity game, and here he talks about the 19th minute applause. Speaking about the regular match applause, Stan said: Stan On The 19th Minute and Stan On Charity Match

Bit of a mini round up, U21 fixture change, and Brian Little next up on the cult Heroes series. Villa's U21 visit to Newcastle which was due to be played on December 3, will now take place at 11am on Sunday, December 2nd and be played at the Geordies training ground. A bright performance tonight from our U21's saw Jordan Graham grab the winner against Manchester United. See: U21's - Deserved Win Against United

Paul Brown: Ashley Westwood has hailed Barry Bannan's impact in central midfield, stressing the silky smooth star offers both craft and graft. In-form Westwood is a big admirer of his mate's precision passes - but says there's much more to Bannan than outstanding vision. See: www.avfc.co.uk
