Ashley Westwood has said the team aren't looking at results, they are looking at our performances with the belief that we'll soon start picking up points.
Like many fans, we can see the improvements in the performances, and it does look like the team are now starting to gel, but we aren't quite there yet. If the players are taking faith from that then all's good, but they can't sit back, they have to keep working as they have done in training, because familiarity is what will make us gel, not faith ultimately.
Speaking to the Official Site Westwood said the players were in good confidence, and they weren't letting our league position get to them at the moment, they are just focusing on where we are showing improvements, so they can then work more on our weaknesses.
'We've not concerned about being in the bottom three, we don't even look at the league table. We look at the performances. We have had three of the toughest games you could wish for, but we aren't downhearted at all, we're very positive. We know we're going in the right direction, we're improving every minute. We'll take on Arsenal this weekend and look to bounce back positively, then we will look forward to the matches coming up.'
I think many of us would simply take the draw against Arsenal, but the games following that we need to be looking at at least a 7 point return so help lift those fans who are waivering at the moment.
We've done our stint really of starting to gel, we've seen performances improve and with a bit more luck we would already have more points on the boards, so we are the stage of the season now where we need to show our intent and show it's really coming together.
Most of us can accept the improved performances against United and City despite the results, but now is the time where the performances need to start equaling results against sides we should be looking for 3 points from.
