Lambert On Benteke 'Quotes' & Some Actual Quotes

Just a follow up to Christian Benteke DID NOT Disrespect Villa.

Paul Lambert has now been quoted on the official site saying he won`t lose any sleep over this and that he the player has been 'misrepresented`.

'I wouldn't put too much credence into it - things can be misconstrued. I think it's naughty what has been done. The big guy is more than happy here. He's playing really well and he's happy the way he is."

Adding, 'He's still a kid and he's only been in the country a couple of months but the fans have taken to him here and rightly so."

'When the story says that he didn't really care if he upset Aston Villa fans, I think that's very naughty."

Also, quotes from last weeks` official news and record programme:

Benteke said:

'I was obviously hoping for success when I came here and I feel I've done well so far. I really feel at home. People have made such an effort to welcome me into the club and I already feel a part of it. I wanted to come to England anyway and to come to a club like Villa was wonderful. The facilities are superb and the club has such a great tradition. I throw myself into everything I do and I believe that if you work hard you will reap the rewards.'

So there you go.

The London press causing *****e again Fear ....... we all have hero's and he is no different, he will just have to be careful with what he says as he obviously has no idea of how the English press are.

if he gets up to 12-15 this season a disorderly queue will start forming next summer, no doubt egged on by the gutter snipes. if if if.....but should that come to be, if Lerner tries to move him on it will probably be the last straw.

to be fair malacaxeta, you're talking about last straws with regards to a hypothetical situation that hasn't even happened yet. at least only beat Randy with things he's actually done wrong as of now, not future predictions yknow? lets enjoy Benteke in the present

I read what they say he said for me the first line about not caring about making enemies is the only bad thing in it and I think we can all agree no player would say something like that or at least as blatantly... After that the rest isnt disrespectful IMO even if it was changed around to sell some papers...

Mr Zig - its all connected in with how Lerner appears to be treating Bent which I think has been, lets say "ill advised". Somebody already said on the other thread to this story that if Arsenal came in with a 15m offer for Big can guess the rest. This "story" already has the whiff of agent to it. I d actually like to see a video interview with Big Chris on the Official Site where he tells it straight to what I actually said.

Malacaxeta ............ how Lerner's treating Bent ????? treating him like what ???? what's it got to do with Lerenr ? Paul Lambert is the manager, Lerner has no input to the squad and who plays or doesn't. He want's to rebuild Villa from the ground up and was ill advised, yes, but not on Bent .... McLeish, he soon realised he wasn't the man to do it and Lambert is. As for 'Big Chris' as you so affectionately call him, he is a lad of few words and this is definitely been twisted by the English press .. do yourself a favour and lose the Lerner conspiracy theories, life will be so much better ! lol UTV

Lost me there aswell malacaxeta?!?! Bent or Benteke??? Bent or Wiemann at present??? Randy has nothing to do with it. Bent is 3rd/4th choice and rightly so due to contribution to the team and his not fitting with the modern day game.

Bent will be gone in January. His goalscoring record will make him attractive to certain clubs, and one of QPR, Liverpool, West Ham, or even Sunderland or Newcastle will be willing to gamble 10m on him. We will sell and cut our losses, and reduce the wage bill further. He served his purpose in helping keep us up in the last two seasons, and is now surplus to requirements. He is the past not the future. Regarding Benteke, so he was an Arsenal supporter when he was a kid. So he wants to join a big club in the future and play at the highest level. Few of our current players supported Villa as a kid, and all would want to play at the highest level, and win things. Lambert's job is to ensure that Villas progress is quick enough to match the ambitions of the best players. If a manager can't do this, then players will look to leave. This is where Martin O'Neill failed. Sixth three seasons in a row was not sufficient to keep our best players, hence they left, and the club declined. We have the good man now, keen to develop young talent. Sit back and enjoy what will be a bumpy ride.
