Andreas Weimann has said losing to Man U was like we had 'lost a cup final'.
Speaking to the Official Site about the disappointment he felt following the loss of a 2-0 lead, and then neatly wrapped up in some refereeing errors, a final 3-2 loss, Weimann said:
'I should be happy because I scored two goals against Man United, but we lost the game so I don't know how to feel at the moment. We are growing in confidence, we are a young team and the gaffer said if we keep playing like that we'll get a few more wins and start climbing the table. Right now it feels like we've lost a cup final, but the gaffer said to keep our heads up because we'll get results.'
Hardly the right...
...time to be reminded about referee's and cup finals when it comes to Man United Andi, but United have secured 15 points from losing positions so far this season, so given our overall performance, again, there are far more positives to take from it and there's no real shame in losing to United given where we are in our rebuild...we pushed them all the way and had even two key decisions gone the right way instead of the red way, the game could've been all that much different.
Even if Andi had been able to send that header into the corner, it's possible we'd have held on for the win, so wipe the tears, pull up the socks, and try and put it right next match.
We just have to make sure that type of performance is now our baseline for the remainder of the season, and if it is, and we can show further improvement, the second half of the season should and will be far more comfortable.

You needed the help of the ref to turn all that possession into anything but air shots, given we had the same number on target (and that's ignoring Scholes' dying swan routine lol And you achieved all that against a team that throughout the match had 7 players new to the league in it...try to not forget that chap!
