'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Daniel To Devine Our NextGen Fate

With Villa sitting on four points, Daniel Devine knows we have to get something from our next two games to ensure qualification.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of tonight's 7pm kick off against PSV Eindhoven, the centre half described the game as a 'must win' if we hope to progress further in the competition, and although we lost the first leg 1-0, he doesn't believe there was much between the teams so we can be confident of getting a good result tonight.

'I think at this stage it's a must win. We've got four points at the minute and we need to get something from our two remaining games. In the away game we were unlucky to lose 1-0, so at home, hopefully we can play better and the three points. I thought we matched them and we just didn't take our chances on the night.'

This season has been Devine's first proper taste of the NextGen, having figured in all four games so far, after missing last years event with injury, and he says it's an experience to relish because the opposition are so different from what you get domestically - but he's also loving the fact he's considered a senior this time round.

'It's a great competition, I was disappointed to miss last year with my knee injury but it's great to be back now playing in it. Tony has said try and help the younger lads and talk to them.'

Tickets for tonight's game are £3 and £1 U16 for season ticket holders, and £4 and £2 U16 for non season ticket holders.

This is an excellent competition, and I have to say that I have been thoroughly entertained at each Villa Park game, this season and last, that I have attended. Tremendous benefit and experience for our youngsters, competing against the best talent from across europe.
