Paul Lambert has continued heaping praise on the players after the victory against Sunderland.
This time round he told the Birmingham Mail that he thought Ashley Westwood was 'absolutely outstanding' in his starting league debut:
'He was absolutely, absolutely outstanding. For somebody to make their debut and come from Crewe, play some reserve games then come in like that on Saturday, I thought he was outstanding. He's great at the art of never giving it away. Whenever he received the ball he looked really comfortable with it. I thought Ashley and Barry Bannan were exceptional.'
I'm not sure many of us would go quite that far about his performance, but there is no doubting that he played a far more positive, and competent game than we'd seen in his brief sub appearances so far. He looks like he's found his feet now with the pace, and understanding of team mates, so hopefully he'll keep improving now and repay the faith Lambert obviously has in him.
I doubt there's many who would argue he shouldn't start the next game on the back of that.

Lambert also had words of praise for Gabby Agbonlahor following his first league goal since November 5 last season, some 29 odd games without a goal?
'He's playing exceptionally well at the moment. His goal was excellent and he was fantastic against Sunderland. I am really pleased with him. I haven't set him any targets because I don't want to put pressure on him.'

And finally for Christian Benteke, without repeating what has already been aired, Lambert added.
'I think he could be anything he wants. He's playing extremely well and since he's been at the football club, he's been a revelation for us.'
