Mystic v Lawro Predictions - Sunderland Away

Mystic Mug is taking a thrashing! It is now 5-2 to Lawro after the BBC pundit got the Norwich result right (a draw) and Mystic was silly enough to say a Villa win. He did say no more positivity if they messed up again though, so be warned!!

Lawro says on BBC Sport that Sunderland, the draw specialists, will win.

I`ve seen some criticism build up for O`Neill and after their League Cup loss to local rivals he was back to his eyes to the floor interview style! After losing to Boro, he must be under pressure, he has as usual spent a bomb!

Lawro points out that it is a big game for O`Neill and that they need a 'positive result`.

And then on us, "Aston Villa have probably got bigger problems though. They were very ordinary in their draw with Norwich last weekend. I think Villa boss Paul Lambert was really clever afterwards. He came out and said the game could have gone either way but he was taking the flak away from his players because Norwich were so much better. That is a big worry for Lambert. His side do not look like they are going to climb out of the bottom six anytime soon and it is one thing for them to be beaten by teams higher up the table, but quite another for them to be outplayed by sides around them at the bottom."

Lawro reasons "Given Sunderland's problems in attack it is quite brave to predict they will score one goal, let alone two, but I think they will add to Villa's woes here."

Latest Results
Stoke 0 - 0 Sunderland
Sunderland 1 - 1 Newcastle
Man City 3 - 0 Sunderland
Sunderland 1 - 0 Wigan
West Ham 1 - 1 Sunderland
Sunderland 1 - 1 Liverpool

Riding high in 14th with just 1 win, difference is they have had 6 draws and just 1 loss.

We`ve only won 1 as well, drawn 3, lost 5.

Villa`s Latest Results
Aston Villa 1 - 1 Norwich
Fulham 1 - 0 Aston Villa
Spurs 2 - 0 Aston Villa
Aston Villa 1 - 1 WBA
Southampton 4 - 1 Aston Villa
Aston Villa 2 - 0 Swansea

And on that basis, and the fact Mystic has given up trying to be optimistic, he is going to opt for the draw. 0-0... What are your predictions?

I predict that Sunderland will try to hit us on the break.........I wonder why I believe that ;-). This should give our lads some time to settle on teh ball and ass such they might be able to build a buit of confidence. Couple that with that fact that Benteke should be riding the wave right now and I would not ber surprised to see us win it 2-0 with at least one of those coming from our Belgian international.

O'Neil will fire them up. 2 - 0 to Sunderland Fletcher & Gardner to score

Just can't afford to be losing against draw specialists like this. Then again, we are loss specialists at the moment really! Ouch.
The Fear
We are going to win 2-0...

You say that Mystic Mug has given up trying to be optimistic, But at the moment a 0-0 is optimistic, we look like losing every game away so at the moment I would take every point away from home.

I think this has a draw written all over it, but Lambert will be the one out of the two going out for the win imo and we could just nick it, Benteke is our threat or will DB9 comeback to haunt them MUAAAHHHAAHHH
CLIVETHEVILLAN
I am a born pessimist whern it comes to the Villa, but I think we will win this one. Sunderland will consolidate their true selves as the season goes on (mediocrity or worse), and we will show gradual improvement, to aspire to something sometimes just a bit better. Looking forward to seeing this one, which with Bolton and Blackburn relegated has now become one of my more local fixtures to go to.

On paper this one has bore draw written all over it. Both struggling to get goals so 0-0. Maybe 1-1 if we are lucky. However if we haven't got Clarke, Baker or Herd back to partner Concrete and Bennett is up against Adam Johnson, Sunderland could well find their goalscoring form. Slightly worried but still stupidly optimistic we could nick it by a Benteke header. UTV!
Lion Heart
My heart says 1-1, my head is saying 1-0 to Sunderland..... take you're pick.

How much would we like Craig Gardner in our midfield right now? OH THE ******** IRONY
PiperUK
Going on form this should be 0-0. But, clean sheets are not our forte. An obvious 1-0 home win from me (come on, prove me wrong!)

Is Bennett not suspended after last week? Would probably prefer Leichaj. Gardner not the only player we could still do with who was booted out by MON. Oh for a Gary Cahill right now...
