Ron Has Cup Ambitions

Ron Has Cup Ambitions

Ron Vlaar has admitted it would be a dream come true for him to lift a domestic cup as captain of Villa.

Speaking to the Official Site Vlaar said he knew there was a long way to go yet before he can achieve that dream, but he'd love a trip to Wembley this season.

'I dream about lifting a trophy with Villa, of course. You want to win every game and cup games are something you look forward to. It's a long way off yet but to play at Wembley would be amazing.'

Vlaar also commented that he was expecting a tough match because of the Di Canio factor, and he expects the team to show the passion the manager does.

Another player expecting a tough time of it tonight, is Stephen Ireland who said to the Official Site.

'It's going to be really tough because they're going to be up for it in the same way we were against Manchester City. But hopefully we can take charge and go into it with confidence. Everyone knows what's at stake and we actually believe that we can go on and push for the final.'

I would love Concrete to lift a trophy for us this season. It will be hard though...
