Yeah, we went from being completely over run, to having an excuse for being completely over run

They must be relieved at Norwich because all the rubbish PL has bought for Villa would now playing for them, if he hadn't left. Welcome to Aston Lidl.

OnMeHeadFred You think all Lambert's signings are rubbis, well Vlaar for £3million Lowton £2million El Ahmadi for £2million Benteke for £7million who by the way is starting to show what he's made of for Belgium and Villa he will be a star, and the rest were cheap buys, Lambert had to buy players to add competition to the squad we had one of the smallest squads in the league he HAD to buy cheaper players, You can not rebuild a squad that is too small and has been in relegation battles for the past two seasons with £20million....Or i tell you what mate enlighten us all on the players we could have bought for £20million as we needed numbers added remember to the squad for the loss of Heskey cueller Collins ontop of haveing the smallest squad last season, please let us know all these quality players we could have bought!

Don't wish to be pedantic, but Lowton was bought for £4million. When the window closed it was obvious that the players who had come in were inexperienced and this would be the likely outcome - Struggling at the bottom of the table! If we intended to focus on bargain basement buys it makes it all the more unforgivable that hey weren't all brought in before the season started. It's not like we were competing against any other teams to bring these players in is it? Then they would at least have had a full pre-season together, getting to know their new team mates, surroundings and what is expected of them. Lerner and Faulkner haven't a clue! (and Lambert had better get the players to pull their fingers out soon or I will include him in that too!)

The previous manager added a couple of quality buys - Nzobia 9.5 million and Hutton 4 million they cost him his job (along with the rubbish football we played) There is also the problem of them wanting to come to Villa as we have shown ourselves to be a selling club which offers no encouragement to true quality. The above mentioned two players along with Ireland,Bannon,Delph,Dunne,Warnock & Delfoso all need to go IMO But the problem remains on who to replace them with. Of what remains Albrighton,Bennet,Westwood and on recent displays KEA are no more than reasonable subs. The problem is the mess was already to big to clear up in in one pre season and unless the right replacements can be found and Randy Lerner is willing to pay the price even Lambert will find this task beyond him.

I think promising success and 'excitement' on a budget of £20m, should have challenged the credulity of even the daftest fans. Having done so, Lambert can't expect sympathy and neither can the fans who blamed everything last season on McLeish. Lambert is doing worse.
OnMeHeadFred
I don't think the sending off made the difference to be fair, they were the better team throughout apart from our very well taken goal. Also the sending off was fair, Herd should also have walked AND they had a stone wall penalty not given.
The Fear
Ignoring stats, based purely on seeing the game it was obvious that Norwich (Yes, EFFING NORWICH!) were superior to Villa. They worked harder, passed better, created more and save for a few ref decisions that went in our favour and Baby Brad having a worldy, should have taken the 3 points from us. Bright future? That statement was 5 years ago and we are still waiting Randolph - you absentee landlord!

Bennetts' red card didn't change the game, sorry Paul! We were crap before and even crapper (is that a word in that contex) when he was sent off. Thankfully he'll be suspended and we'll have Lichaj at LB. Bennett should be playing in the U21s .... or isit the U18s, he looks like a little 14 year old with that silly haircut!
Pride of Lions
Got to agree with Pride if Bennett continues to play like that for the rest of the season he will have his own "deck" of cards.
