Charles N'Zogbia... Shocking Stats!

Such a strange signing Charles N'Zogbia has turned out to be. Must admit, I thought he wasn`t a bad replacement for Downing who as you know, left for Liverpool and has done so well since he played his face up for a move.

I digress..

But our very own Charles N`Zogbia. What is up with him?!

It is almost impossible to judge any player on last years disaster, but he`s hardly shown the fighting spirit to make himself indispensible for Paul Lambert this season either has he?

He is one of our senior players, one of our best paid players and he offers exactly what at the moment?

Seems we have the troublesome Newcastle version of the player, not the decent player Wigan enjoyed.

Very poor for a player that cost over £10million isn`t it?

I know no one liked he who shall not be named, however he was let down by this player who he showed so much faith in and as said, this season, at the moment, seems no different.

We even had him tweeting that for the first time in his life he wasn`t happy playing football last February (see: N'Zogbia Says He Is Not Happy ) and our hearts bled for him. You know, poor old Zoggy, putting in no effort on the pitch and taking home a Kings ransom in wages. Just horrible, horrible times for the midfielder. In fact, if we weren`t all so selfish, we should have had a collection for him really.

So... not sure what the answer is really? He might well be off next summer if anyone fancies taking a chance on him, he is undoubtedly on his day a good player, but I`m not sure we`ve seen any of those days? It is obvious, unless Lambert can get something to click with him, that he will be yet another player we make a big loss on to get him away from Villa Park.

Has anyone got any hope that he might still come good for us?

Quite frankly no have not seen anything of the player he was at wigan ,which is the only place I wouldnt sell him to unless they paid full whack for him. Our history of buying fireworks that turn out to be damp squibs continues, and as fate would have it the two big signings by our previous manager turn out to be money down the drain, and yet I admit along with many others on the site wanted him to sign for us at the time.

And the next thing you know, he's saying he's after his place in the French squad back...Lol The guy has turned out to be a bit of a joke... but not very funny.

Wigan is a very small club and he was a big fish there where his ego was kept nicely massaged as a savior. Not the case at Villa and it is showing. He looked better than he was at Wigan. Along with Mutton Warnock and possibly Bent they are the last of the big pay signings to go. Oh I forgot Dunne but he is out of contract next summer

Big talent but is high maintenance. A one-season-wonder at Wigan. He has let a lot of people down over his career. He would be happier being the star at a smaller club. Should have gone to Blues instead but he was greedy for high wages which he has never shown he is worth. Destined for lesser things.

N'Zogbia was a sulky player for us, mainly as he was asked to play left back for a time. The final straw came when 'Joke in ere' called him N'somnia. A fitting comment because some of his performances gave you sleepless nights.

Its an awful pity I thought he would be a great player for us, I was sure he would kick on from his Wigan form and become an international standard player... We pretty traded Ash Young the most 'fouled' player in the league for the the most tackled... Oh Champagne Charlie I still have a little bit of hope for him I think Lambert is prepared to hold onto him til the season ends to see if he can rediscover himself but if an offer came in in January he will be off...

I agree. I was one of those who thought and certainly hoped he would, his rumoured attitude problems, be a success and certainly at least an adequate replacement for Downing. I cannot provide the answers but I have faith in Lambert to assess him and try and get the best out of him. He still has a chance but i do fear that he is another of our expensive acquisitions that don't fulfill both their ability for us and our aspirations.

Sort of agree re: big fish in a small pond, however, as we have sold most of the 'stars' now and have brought through mostly youth, I am not sure it is still the case Kefkat, we need the likes of him now to lead the way?

He didn't leave with much grace either did he toon_nomatterwot? And yes, we've called him insomnia etc. Shame, because there is (isn't there?!?!?!) a decent player somewhere in there. Looked ok for Wigan. We always do this though, as Merlin128777 says.

I'd like to see a video of these 53 chances he's supposedly created for us because I don't bloody remember them! Also his Wigan stats aren't as impressive as I thought they'd be, were we conned into thinking he's better than he is just because most of his good form came in the last 10 games to keep Wigan up??

There were plenty on here raving about how good he was before he signed ,couldn't see it then and even less now . Hope he proves me wrong but he never lifts his head to look where he's going so I can't see it and neither can he !
