Lambert's Slow In His Wiser Years

Lambert's Slow In His Wiser Years

Marc Albrighton has said the only thing Paul Lambert has lost on the footie field is his pace.

Speaking to the Official Site whilst bigging up the new gaffer, Albrighton offered:

'The gaffer joins in a few sessions and you can see the touch is still there, it's only his pace that's not there. He reckons he had me in his pocket the other day, that was good fun.'

Albrighton better be careful making cracks like that or he'll end up on double jogging duty!

He also added that one of the things that Lambert has done since coming in, is to actually talk to the players about their experiences over the past few seasons:

'As a manager he has set his standards and it's up to us to live up to them. He's come in early on and took a great interest in our thoughts as players in terms of what happened to the team in the past few seasons, he's had a brilliant career and it excites all of us to be working with him.'

The players feeling valued certainly will have helped with team spirit and would explain why at our best, the players look like they would run through walls for him.

As the foundations build, hopefully the success will follow:

'It's a fantastic honour to say our manager and reserve team manager have won the European Cup, we're bound to learn from these guys!'

He seems a great guy, I really hope it comes together here for him and for us, we will have to do our part when the chips are down .... which to me is what supporting a club is all about .. looking forward to this era. UTV

Yes Milan. Patience is needed. People like him have that drive to succeed and a winning mentality. Just what we need at present. The youngsters will all benefit from this long term. Eck would've had them all defending for their lives and putting the fear of McGrath in them about conceding a goal every time they stepped onto the field. More refreshments from the new gaffer.

I know it's a poor start point wise ,but the players and playing side we are leagues ahead on last year, really impressed with lambert.. As most keep saying, our fickle fans need to see its going to take time. Low mid table finish would be good for me,with the continuing improvement on the field...

Lambert is the right man for us it would take Fergie 3 years to sort out this mess! Back PL and the team no matter what.
