Vlaar - We Are Getting There

Ron Vlaar has said his partnership with Ciaran Clark is improving game by game, but they both know there are still a lot of improvements to be made.

Speaking to the Official Site Vlaar talked about him and Clarkie developing the understanding that they need, but he also said all of the players need to improve further but he thinks we are showing signs that we are close to clicking properly now:

'The partnership with Ciaran is good but I think we have to improve, for the team and for ourselves. I think we can work on that every day and that is what we are doing. Communication can always be better, it's getting better and I think everybody has to improve.'

There are most certainly signs that it's coming together, and progress has been slow, but it shouldn't take too many more games now before Lambert knows his best XI, who works best with each other and the understanding really gels between players. By mid Novemberish Lambert should also clearly know who is ready to be relied upon for the remainder of the season and where we need further strengthening in January.

We have at least looked like a team willing to compete this season, with the exception of the second half against Southampton where the wheels came off .
