Joe Bennett Injury Not As Bad As Feared

A tweet from Mat Kendrick from the Birmingham Mail allays some fears over the extent of the injury Bennett picked up v Spurs

Mat Kendrick ‏@MatKendrick

Joe Bennett has a gash just below his knee, so #avfc are hoping the injury is not as severe as it first appeared.

With thanks to Mr K for the twitter update.

Injuries like this are going to be more common until the league enforce a minimum boundary size from pitch to pitchside/track. Many grounds have the same problem and it will sadly result in many more similar injuries. Increase the boundary area and grass it up to the advert hoardings with no hard area. On a more positive note it is good to see that Joe isn't badly injured.
