Lambert Pre Spurs

Lambert Pre Spurs

It's press conference time again ahead of the Spurs match this weekend.

On Darren Bent:

'I think I said after the game that we need everybody. It's not just 18 guys. We need everybody at the football club to pull the same way. If you have that and the collective spirit there, that will take you a long way. Darren's goal was brilliant and I said after the game there was no problem. There's still no problem this week whatsoever. My opinion hasn't changed. He's still a world-class finisher. You look at some of the best players in the world - they have been left out before. It happens to everybody. I just pick a team which I think might win a game.'

On the challenge Spurs will be for our youthful team:

'They have earned the right to play there so it is not something they should be frightened by. They should not go there with any trepidation. If I think they're good enough, then I'll throw them in. I've always been like that. If you're good enough and you're young enough, go and show what you can do and they will thrive on it. It's a massive game for us but like any game it is one we will go there and try to win.'

Lambert also revealed that we have no additional injury concerns ahead of the game.

1 - 3 Villa, bit conservative I know, but Spuds are reasonable, so there is a chance they may break our defence for one, only the one mind!

It would of been nice to be able to throw a bit more experience in, but that costs more money doesn't it Mr Lerner?......

I dont think we can keep saying we have no experience yes we dont have as much as other teams but we are 7th on the average age list for players used this year...

This whole "experience" thing gets on my nerves. People need to play the game to gain it. By the time xmas rolls around our whole squad will be experienced because Lambo has given the lads a chance to gain this mystical thing that is called "experience" without the need to splash the cash.
