Cowans Tips Bowery To Progress

Gordon Cowans believes that Jordan Bowery has what it takes to build and develop to the right level to play a part in our first team.

Speaking to the Official Site following the six goal thriller at White Hart Lane, Cowans said of our deadline day signing:

'Jordan Bowery is a handful, he's a big, powerful lad, a good target man and he has got pace as well. He pulls off the shoulders of defenders and gets behind people. It's a big thing for him to get his first goal for the football club.'

Jordan Bowery Forum Thread.

As for the game itself, Cowans was obviously disappointed that we didn't hold on for all three points, but we remain unbeaten and there were plenty of positives for him to take:

'I think the partnership looked good between those two, Burkey looked sharp considering he has been out. We are obviously a bit disappointed, we should have seen it through. We need to be defending better than we did.'

Competition for strikers in the next couple of years looks very healthy. Nice to see the Fonz getting a few goals for Blackpool too. Hopefully all these young strikers will keep on progressing to a high level and compliment each other, instead of clashing in terms of being too similar to play together.

Lets hope Blackpool rocks with a few Fonz goals. Hopefully someone will make a move for him as he'll never make a Premiership striker. Bowery certainly looks better.

yeah i have to agree, Fonz has had loads of chances to perform for the Villa and has never seemed capable of being Premier League class.
