'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lambert Delighted With 'Massive Result'

Paul Lambert told The Official Site what a massive result the win over Manchester City was.

He said: 'It was a massive result for us, really huge, but I think the way we played was excellent, right from the off."

What a bounce back from the weekends shocking loss eh?!

He says we`ve been playing well since the Tranmere win but obviously not so much the second half v Southampton.

Made last night`s game, effort and result all the more important though. Sets us up nicely for the local derby v WBA now and the team should have had their confidence restored.

The manager added, 'It was a brilliant response from the team. I thought they were excellent. That was a huge effort from us."

He also pointed out that the team showed real character to come back twice in the game.

And what a nice way to end: 'I have always said that if you're in a competition, you're in it to win it.

Wish the previous managers had had the same attitude!

What a rollercoaster ride! I think I'll give up trying to second guess Villa now. Expected a win v Saints, we got tonked. Expected a spanking v Man City and look what happened! At least we are now showing we won't respect the 'big' teams and will go for it. How refreshing. Going to be an interesting ride isn't it!? Hands up, who genuinely thought we'd win last night?!?!?!

I think that makes Mr Barry our highest scoring midfielder this season!
Jonster
Lol... not exactly Jonster, he's joint top scorer with KEA!

Love the in it to win it comment, love the fight and effort that we're shoeing but also the manner in which we move the ball, they look like they actually want the ball!
