'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We Are Going To Give It A Go

Paul Lambert has promised that Villa will give it a good go tonight against Man City, despite us being the underdogs.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of tonight's Capital One Cup clash, Lambert said he was looking for the team to put in a performance that the fans can be proud of:

'Nobody will expect anything from us, other than ourselves, but you go up there and you go and try and win. I'm not going to change my ideas, regardless of the personnel they have out. We will be up for it and I'll tell them we've got nothing to lose. I'll go as strong as I think I can to win the game, that's important.'

Strong and positive words from Lambert, let's hope the players are in a Swansea frame of mind and not a Southampton.

This is completely the wrong approach. Progressive managers such as Gigi Houllier and a Scots git who's name I don't remember showed the way to do it. Play all under 19s and admit beforehand that they are better than us and we have no hope. That should get the desired result.

Well I'm still coming to terms with the fact we won. We to bed an hour before kick off 00;45am woke up at 6.40am and Wow! We certainly did give it a go!
